I have been noticing that about every website I usually visit for ammo is just about out of everything. I have been stocking up on most everything but I'm suprised I cannot find bulk .22lr anywhere online. I've checked Natchez,Cheaper than dirt,Midway and others any Ideas on where to look. I did manage to pick up five boxes of .270 3 boxes of 30/30 today at a store but other than that the shelve's are bare about everywhere |

Went to buy some more ammo today and shelves are almost empty.. I guess I need to kick my own butt for not buying reloading equipment. |

.22 ammo is virtually non-existent here. Was at the Hoffman Estates Cabela's store yesterday and about the only ammo they had a large amount of was 9MM and 7.62X39, and I think there was a sign saying they had a 10 box limit. No store I have stopped into lately has had ANY .22 except for maybe a couple boxes of bird shot rounds. I've found a few boxes here and there of what I need but it's not easy. Shotgun shells are still fairly plentiful, may start picking up more of those. |

Some of the web site's I often go to are not only out of most ammunition, they are also getting low item's for long term storage such as Burial Vault's,Air tight storage bags, etc. And i kind of notice some of the freeze dried food surplus is stating to be depleted. This is the first time I've begun to really worry . We have four more years until a change in leadership and who know's whats in store for that duration and if we can come back after this. I guess this is the "Change" we were "Warned" of |

Same thing happened 4 years ago. I'm probably just as uncomfortable as all of you with our current leaders of this country but last time this happened the manufactures caught up in 6 months maybe? I don't recall exactly but be patient and make several trips to local stores. Keep in mind they get shipments in daily, if you show up at the right time you'll have first dibs. One on the biggest shortages last time was 380 acp. I happened to need something at a Walmart three different times in one week so each time in I took a walk by the ammo case, each time they had different supplies on the shelf. One time it was the practice 380s I was looking for. And yes, reloading supplies are disappearing as well, I buy very little factory ammo (22lr, 22mag, 380) but need some magnum rifle powder and can't find any. Local store said I could prepay for a bulk size (4-8 lbs depending on brand) and I'm probably just going to do that. I do have some time before next hunting season. |

Check the places you normally wouldn't expect. My brother just found practically any ammo he wanted at a pawn shop. He knew they sold new and used guns, but never realized they also sold ammo. He bought three 500 round bricks of .22lr, but the price had gone up considerably compared to a few months ago. Also, check out any local hardware stores in your area.......not the chains, but the Mom and Pop type. |

I happened to be in Walmart this morning, they had just received a shipment of ammunition but they were limiting your purchase to 2 boxes/caliber/person/day. |

Her in MIlwaukee, WI, all I'm hearing of shortages is .223 Rem. I have been pretty stocked in all my ammo for awhile so I really haven't looked at many stores. I recently picked up a box of .25 acp's and did notice the shelves getting very light. But there were plenty of .22 boxes of different amounts still on the shelves. Also had alot of long gun ammo, as well as shotgun. The local sheriff here is now publically encouraging everyone to buy a firearm as he sees that the common joe can't rely solely on the protection of our law enforcement. That's great, but means nothing if you can't get ammo for the guns you buy. Also, y'all might consider looking for ammo at your local (Smaller) shooting shops/dealers. You may pay alittle more, but it will probably be on the shelves for you. |

I have been for the last few years making it my routine to pick up one box of each caliber I have eveyrtime to go to the stores and will contniue to do so. I also have a place that keeps an order going for me and when it comes in they call so I can pickup my usual amount on a weekly basis. We have plenty of reloading supplies as well. I inherited a good amount of reloading supplies as well as a complete reloader with all the dies I need for my calibers. |

Walmart this morning was almost bare except for shotgun ammo. The sign said the limit was 3 boxes per day total. Shotgun ammo was fairly limited in choice. Mostly 20 gauge, and only loads suitable for shooting trap or doves. 12 gauge was the same but they did have some steel duck loads. NO choices in the 4,5 or 6 shot loads. Several options for deer slugs on the shelf. Check out what ammo is going for on Gunbroker.com. Unreal what people are paying for it! Bulk .22 ammo in the 500 or so round boxes are going for $60 or more. Plus shipping! These go for maybe $25 if the store has them. I hope the supply starts catching up with demand. |

My locally owned independant gun store has plenty of all caliber ammo and has the big bricks of .22lr for $43.00 a brick. This store sells a lot of firearms as he volume sells at cheaper prices but due to the high volume he makes more money than the stores that sell a few of the high priced firearms. I will be making another visit this weekend to pick up my last order and will again go ahead and put in another order. This time I wll be ordering a couple of the 8lb cans of powder and another 5 thousand primers. I am still compling my next bullet purchase as I am awaiting on some of the new bullets from a couple of my favorite makers. I know the oldtimers on here remember when I used to always put BUY GUNS AND AMMO on the bottom of my post and that was from 10 years ago till about 2 years ago when I stopped doing it. But due to the present times I will once again end my post with this as I used to do. BUY GUNS AND AMMO !!!!! |
