Posted By rthomas4 on 25 Jan 2013 09:11 AM Zach, those clips you mentioned feed the rounds into a magazine, though. They don't feed the ammo into the breech! Big difference, right!?!?!?!?
i hear what your sayin but its still a clip you said you dout any of us had guns with clips ... last i checked a stripper clip classified as a clip becuase it clips the ammo for fast reload into the mag. just sayin |

What is the penalty for a class E felony? I ask because I read that it is a class E felony for carrying an unloaded gun while carrying an unloaded gun while drug trafficking you get 3 1/2 yrs. I wouldn't be surprised if you were given a stiffer penalty for a class E felony. |

Have you guys seen this Do you have a gun in your House? When I had my gangrene gallbladder taken out and spent 10 days in the hospital for what should have been an overnight stay the insurance company kicked me out. I had home nurse visits for two weeks and was asked if I had guns in the house. I respond that if I did I would not tell them. So the below has some merit. FYI, I am passing this along...there are comments from two other people that have also been asked if they keep guns in the house. The nurse just kind of slipped it in along with all the other regular questions. I told her I refused to answer because it was against the law to ask. Everyone, whether you have guns or not, should give a neutral answer so they have no idea who does and who doesn't. My doctor asked me if I had guns in my house and also if any were loaded. I, of course, answered yes to both questions. Then he asked why I kept a loaded gun close to my bed. I answered that my son, who is a certified gun instructor and also works for Homeland Security, advised me that an unloaded, locked up gun is no protection against criminal attack. The Government now requires these questions be asked of people on Medicare, and probably everyone else. Just passing this along for your information: I had to visit a doctor other than my regular doctor when my doctor was on vacation. One of the questions on the form I had to fill out was: Do you have any guns in your house? My answer was None of your business!! So it is out there! It is either an insurance issue or government intervention. Either way, it is out there and the second the government gets into your medical records (as they want to under Obamacare) it will become a major issue and will ultimately result in lock and load!! Please pass this on to all the other retired guys and gun owners... Thanks, from a Vietnam Vet and retired Police Officer: I had a doctors appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found out something very interesting that I would like to pass along. While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions: 1. Did I feel stressed? 2. Did I feel threatened? 3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone? The nurse then informed me, that if I had answered yes to any of the questions, I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security. Looks like they are going after the vets first. Other gun people like retired law enforcement will probably be next. Then when they go after the civilians, what argument will they have? Be forewarned and be aware. The Obama administration has gone on record as considering veterans and gun owners potential terrorists. Whether you are a gun owner, veteran or not, YOU"VE BEEN WARNED ! If you know veterans and gun owners, please pass this on to them. Be very cautious about what you say and to whom.

I've seen this before but it needs to be seen again this girl gets it IF you are a sensible person ---- you will view this video ONCE, perhaps TWICE, and if you truly care about yourself, your family, and your country --- you will view this video more times -- and give it SERIOUS THOUGHT. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She is absolutely right. Here is an excellent video of a victim of gun violence testifying before a congressional committee. http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lew...28878.html |

Zach, that was my point. A stripper clip load the ammo into a magazine......thus the term "clip" is inappropriate, especially when used in conjunction with the term "high capacity". As I figured many folks probably own an M1 or similar type of rifle that utilizes a stripper clip for loading the magazine, but not a "clip" that functions as the ammo feeder for the action of the firearm. |

What about the ammo restrictions! You can't order online without going through an FFL. And if if you do find a good deal on something you use, and try to stock up, they'll notify the state cops or the ATF. BS! A 20 round box of Hornady's is going to wind up costing you $75 after you pay your local guy his transfer and background check fees. Forget about buying a brick of 22's, you'll be on some sought of list. That's if ya can find a company to ship to NY. At this point no one even wants your buisness. But "OOOHHH NOOOO, we don't want to effect any hunters". All I gotta say is other states beware. |

Send me some $ and a list of what you want. I'll start picking it up for you and you can pick up your ammo(with receipts) the next time you guys come around. Might make you come back again sooner. |

Might take ya up on that t1. Ya know, I grew up a proud New Yorker in an outer borough of NYC. I've enjoyed hunting and camping in beautiful Upstate New York my entire life. I've always respected other areas and traditions upstate, and considered it a privilage to spend time there with my family and friends. I always said if I hit the big jackpot, my first ranch, and base of operations, would be somewhere in upstate NY. Even recently, I considered dealing with the riff-raff, the cost of living, and the rediculous restrictions down in the city worth it, as long as I got to spend some time upstate. But this latest slew of laws has really got me down. I mean if they can deny you your constitutional rights, what else are they willing to do? It's a sad thing but I pretty much lost interest in the whole area. If it wasn't for my ole lady and our families, I'd be gone tomorrow. The sad part for NY is that she'll lose a real loyal citizen. |
