New York is beautiful. But your politicians are like cockroaches and you will never get rid of them.

the funny part is there arnt to many guns that take 7 round clips and it aint gunna solve nothin anyway ciminals will still be criminals . i have a bolt action .270 with 4 , 4 round clips and i bet i could rack them off and reload fast enough the wouldnt be able to tell that from a semi auto . on gun is just as deadly as another in the hands of someone looking to do damage and wrongdoing

Exactly zgrimshaw. Not only that but do they reallly expect people who have say a 10 shot clip for their .22 to get rid of it? An they are the "honest" people. You KNOW the criminals are just got to immediately get rid of their illegal items...

Did you see they finally figured out they screwed up and have to ammend the law. So cops on and off duty can carry guns with more than seven rounds in the clip.

I seriously doubt that any of you have guns that use "clips" unless you have a Garand. I believe y'all mean magazines! Please, don't promote the anti-rhetoric with improper terminology and misinformation!!!!!!!!! (I'm sorry that's one of my biggest pet peeves, along with the term "assault weapons")

Dawg, SC also has a lottery for 'gator permits. There is a $10.00 non-refundable application fee, and if you get drawn, then the tag will cost an additional $100.00. The problem is that the 'gators can only be taken by archery tackle, harpoon, or snagging them with a hook. Once they have been controlled, then a bang stick or rimfire cartridge may be used to kill 'em before putting them in the boat.

I'm on one of the island in S.E.Alaska, and as far as cold and snow, most of the states in the lower 48 get a lot colder and whiter.
Seldom do we see more then 3 ft of snow on the ground or does it get much colder then the lower teens. This current warming cycle
has almost made us a banana belt.  However, we do get close to 200 inches of rain a year, and everytime  the ground shakes, liveing on the beach, kinda makes your hinney pucker, and ya head for higher ground untill tsunamia warnin's are over. Not really the country for everybody(thank God) but we like it.

Alaska is a dream to me. For as long as I can remember visiting Alaska was on my bucket list. Well, I finally got a job along with wife's salary and mine we were able to squirrel away extra money and we were able to go on vacation there. My wife has a cousin that lives in Eagle River she hadn't seen in 20yrs. So we made arrangements to go stay with them. It was the begining of a love affair. I'd always drempt going fishing for halibut. Well, we've taken five vacations to AK. We've fished halibut and Silvers. Been to Denali and Fairbanks and a lot of places in between. Fished halibut out of Homer and Whittier (truly sheiter). I always hoped I'd get a BIG one. And out on Prince William sound I got her 205 lbs that day we also put two fifty pounders and two nintylbsers and two more that were 150+. Couldn't get the 35' boat on plane with all that weight in the back.

Alas I had a bad motorcycle wreck and now all I have is SSD and my Veterans Service Connected Disability. So it looks like our days of going back are over. I'd move there in a heartbeat but like I said our finances won't allow us to follow that final dream. I would love to pack up and move to Seward. I did get a pretty good chunk of $$$$ from my mother's estate and I'm on the fence about a week in Seward. I think even with the damage to my body I could manage fishing halibut and silvers. But could a charter handle me with my crippled body.

Alaska is one of God's GREAT Cathedrals.

and look at the old sattle guns witch are popular in Ny, there tube fed mags but most hold etleast 8 rounds and some that are smaller rounds like the 44 mag hold even more. i dont have or know anyone who has a 7 round mag pistol , my family are big into Glock and Barretta and there all 10 rounders. to sum it up they made criminals out of anyone that owns a gun

Get the hell out of the state of NY Owners, manufacturers, come to more gun friendly states when it comes down to it who cares how hot it gets or if it snows their . If all the gun manufacturers would shut down and move their job the to conservative states what would the Liberal states do then we are talking thousands of jobs. Liberals are like herpes once you get them there's no getting rid of them and they don't use logic in their thinking or decision making

GLW if that pump has a thumb hole stock, it's considered an "assault weapon" under the new laws, because that is considered a "military feature".

Zach, those clips you mentioned feed the rounds into a magazine, though. They don't feed the ammo into the breech! Big difference, right!?!?!?!?

Not according to the NYS FAQ that I posted earlier Ron. It would have to be a semi...

Steve, did you notice that the picture with the thumb hole stock is actually a pump shotgun? The original new rules that I read were on a site on fb, and it didn't differentiate between pump or semi-auto, nor between rifle and shotgun. Apparently there are some major points of confusion within the interpretations of the NY law. Everything I've seen and read about Feinstein's bill; however, eliminates any differences regardless of pump or semi-auto and regardless of rifle caliber, including .22's unless they are tube fed. as far as capacities. BTW, I'm not sure how many are aware of this, but there is a 50 round drum magazine available for a standard Mossberg 500, Remington 870, and Winchester models 1200 and 1300 pump shotguns. I believe it's manufactured by Tapco.
