Pa. is still close if family ties dictate you stay close to NY and we have pretty decent gun laws here. Shall issue on the License to Carry Firearms ($20/5yrs) no purchase permits, no waiting periods, open carry is legal, long gun sales can go face to face. Handgun sales have to go through a dealer (except for a few family transfers). No restrictions on purchases. Big downer is that semi-auto rifles are NOT legal for hunting. Check out the Pa. Firearms Owners Association Website (pafoa.org) for more information. Dale |

I have always known just how lucky I was to be born in the great state of Gerogia but did not know exactly how lucky ! I can't even imagine having to live and abide by some of the laws in the different states that have been shown here. I grewup on a 110 acre farm and was under the impression that eveybody enjoyed the same quality of life when it came to guns and their ownership and everybody had them. I was exposed and introduced to guns at a very early age so I only thought that everybody had done the same. I learned to shoot at the age of 8 yo and got my own .22 rifle at the age of 11 yo and learned even more and better ways to shoot. I would save my money I earned by working for others and buy the big bricks of ammo that I myself went into the Hardware store and bought and picked up myself. I just can't imagine having to be so smothered by the laws that some of you have to deal with. |

Actually, good point... when the wife joins me in retirement we're bailing outta this giveaway, liberal sh*thole (read as NYS) Probably to Virginia or N. Carolina but I need to check out the gun and hunting regs there. |

Plenty of you all snow birds have been coming down. I guess a couple more won't hurt too bad. Just bring plenty of ammo. We might have to defend ourselves one day. My wife likes the fact that at least we'll have meat to put on the table. I told her to start storing salt and pepper and I'll grill with oak. |

We can work out some "work detail", since you are not as old as I am(or we'll have to split the work). To put you up on some land. |

donno... I spent a week in Austin on March for work. Too big of a city for me but nice. Thing that got me was it was 95 degrees an 95 degrees... in freekin' MARCH. Maybe away from the coast isn't quite as bad. Kind of why we're thinking Va or NC (not the mountains) Still get the 4 seasons but milder winters (excluding the past two) and lower taxes. Man Zach... when you say upstate - you MEAN upstate! lol But I agree to everyone - "I'm from NY" = New York City a**holes. So far from the facts. But what's ya gonna do... can't change peoples overall perceptions, just how they view you and me. When people ask me where I'm from I tell them that I live in NY, I'm FROM Pa. |

Oh come on now Steve, NY isn't that bad of a state, with the exception of the politics? I live in beautiful farmland with near-by towns I feel comfortable to walk in and shop. I have everything I need within 50 miles. Plenty of public land if you can't find any private, which is getting harder and harder to find and I can't say as I blame the folks. Heck, right before hunting season when I walk into my local gunshop where I pretty much know everyone, I feel like I'm from a foriegn country and can't understand most of the language being spoke. I have some wonderful friends from below the hudson that I would trust with my life, but some of these folks just scare me! The sad part, I work for the state that is wanting to cut me off at the ankles. It's beautiful up here, but it may be time to relocate. It's just hard pulling up roots (family) that we have planted for many years. Zach, where you from? I'm not sure where Russell is? I'm from Norwich, in between Binghamton and Syracuse. |

Thats what I meant when I mentioned the "politics" (idiots) guys. Zach, no one ever understands anything other than we live on the upper side of the hudson. That clears all confusion of whether we are city folk or not. Guess you will just have to deal with it? |

I don't care what town, city, or state anyone lives in, there will always be idiots involved in the governing process, because intelligent folks aren't interested in spending the money or kissing the azz, to run for political office......even if it's just a one horse town council seat. There is something about politics that can turn the nicest, friendliest, most lucid individual into a frothing at the mouth, brain dead zombie mudder fugger! Unfortunately it just appears that there are a few of those blue states up North along with California, where the liberal, brain dead blue dogs have completely taken control of the asylum. That makes it easy to understand why the Southern states continue to experience the most growth........and why our winters are getting colder! All those snow birds have brought the weather with 'em!!!!!!!!!!! |

Yeah, gotta agree with ya Rthomas. But why is that??? Guess it's the old adage about "absolute power corrupts absolutly..." Just a little common sense from our "leaders" and we'd all be better off....Well, Obama's gonna try & do the rest of the Nation like Cuomo did us in NY....I've already sent out my letters to my senators, not that will do any bit of good.....Schumer/Gillibrand....both anti-gun, opposing new bans/registartions, etc... |
