I thought I'd pass on my first experience in dealing with Leupold warranty.
I have a 17 year old VariX II  3x9 that started getting hard to turn the power selector ring, even worse when it was 20 deg or less outside.. So I emailed Leupold about it and was told to send it back which I did.
UPS returned it yesterday and reading the work done they completely disassembled the scope, reworked the Selector Slot and also reworked the Erector System. 100% inspected everything and returened it zero cost. Now this scope had been mounted on my '06 for all those years and hardly ever required any adjustments all that time.
Bottom line is that Leupold not only fixed the problem I was having, but completely went through the whole scope updating it also.
Great service and hard to beat Leupold scopes and lifetime warranty. Their #1 in this house anyway.

Good to hear about stand up companies. I've never had to use the warranty on any of my Leus but good to hear. Weber grills are the same way.

I have seen several threads on this site asking what scope should I buy? I usually do not respond because that is like asking what car should I buy? Everyone has his or her own idea of what a car should do, look like, etc.

Almost all my scopes are Leupold’s and this is just one of the reasons why. Several years back I went to the range to shoot for the day and my .270 missed the paper at 100 yards. I wound up having to move the stupid target to 25 yards before I hit the edge of the paper. I had not dropped, banged or otherwise abused the scope and I had been regularly shooting it. After trying to recenter it, it became obvious that there was something wrong with the gun or the scope. I called Leupold and explained what I had done, they told me to send the scope back to them, and they would look at it. I asked them to hurry since it was only a month and a half before I was leaving for Wyoming and I wanted time to sight the rifle back in and shoot it enough to regain confidence in the rig.

The scope was at least 15 yrs. old. I do not know what they found when the opened it up, but they called me back within a few days and asked me if it would be ok if they sent me a mat black scope instead of the glossy black like my old one. Bottom line, I got a new (better) scope had a month to sight in and shoot with it before going and at the moment of truth the antelope fell over (sell lots of deer and antelope have fallen over with that new scope since then.

Personally, I see no reason to look anywhere else when I go to buy a scope.

I had a similar experience with one of my Leupold scopes. I was treated just as good. In the line of reloading gear, nearly everything I have is RCBS. Over the years I have called them about issues with things that were old and used up. They had me send the items back to them. Each was either repaired or replaced at no charge. AND these companies are U.S.A based companies, one more reason to buy them.

Harlod

I also have almost all RCBS reloading equipment. I dropped my powder dispenser one evening when I was putting it away and broke the hopper. I called RCBS to see about purchasing a replacement. They asked for my address and said that they would ship me a replacement for free. I told them that I needed to pay as this was not warranty work as I had dropped the thing on the floor, clear abuse by me. They said, no and insisted on sending me the replacement for free. Not to hijack this thread, but I agree with you on RCBS too.
