We need to organize protests in every capital city and for
those who can’t travel to their capitol city, protest a local city or town with
a march down every main street. March in
front of schools demanding the protection of every child to the same level of
protection as those who wish to take away our rights. We need this to happen
every free day that we have! If we don’t meet this challenge in person our
voice will never be heard!

For one thing, since we're a club in name only, how do you propose to organize such events, who would see to procuring the parade permits and paying for them? Second thing, the NAHC does not officially get involved in protecting our gun rights. They aren't interested and don't want to be. The official club line has always been that the NAHC is strictly a hunting organization and for those concerned about gun rights, we should join the NSSF, the NRA, the Second Amendment Foundation or any of the pro gun organizations. In other words, there wouldn't be any official NAHC support.
Also, in my state of SC, our legislature, Governor, and local cops are already on our side. SC was one of the first to have legislation proposed that would put armed guards in every school, after Sandy Hook. We already have laws on the books that protect our hunting rights, and that allow anti-hunters to be prosecuted for harassment if they interfere with any hunting, and we have one of the easiest states in the nation for getting a CWP, and background checks for gun purchases. We have no limits on the number of guns that can be purchased at one time, and are on Bloomberg's attack list as being an enemy of NYC because of our lenient gun laws.
Your idea sounds wonderful, but with over 850,000 members scattered over all of North America and in practically every state and province, it would be practically impossible to coordinate and accomplish. Have you ever noticed the participation of the member and life member hunts? That alone should serve as an indicator of what I'm referring to.
Possibly a better alternative is to promote everyone's participation in writing their Senators and Congressmen, and in those blue states, hammering away at the state and local level with a steady barrage of letters and e-mails to their elected officials. Maybe even a few phone calls on a regular basis.

Found this video on Fox tonight when I got home from work. There are several states that do not intend to follow any federal gun laws, since they (states) are not allowed to enforce illegal immigration laws. A little disappointed though, Kansas was not on the list. Guess its time send more letters to Topeka. http://news.yahoo.com/video/local-s...05259.html |

I apologize for making this post and then disappearing
but we lost power shortly after my posting and we were without power for
several days.
The way that I see any club is: it is the members
that make a club a club and not a name or in this case marketing tool. As far
as organizing goes it would be no more difficult than having a get together. I
know that when I was on this site regularly, there were get togethers happening
quite often. I must admit that when I made this post my enthusiasm may have
gotten the best of me. What I had envisioned and what I posted are pretty far apart
in their makeup. I was thinking more of a walking silent protest rather than a
standing, blocking traffic or parade event. A point can be made by simply
filling the sidewalks with people wearing shirts with a message, an NRA or NAHC
Shirt or jacket. There would be no need for a permit for something like this.
As long as the crowd is moving it would be no different than window shopping
with a lot of folks dressed similarly. Now with that said: if a group did decide
to hold a more formal rally, I’m sure that it wouldn’t be very costly per
person depending on the size of the group.
In Virginia we have laws similar to yours is SC but
it would be a real stretch to say that everyone is on our side. We have had
laws requiring background checks on any gun sale other than private party
sales. We can’t even purchase bullets the same day at the same place of the gun
purchase. Personally I do not have a problem with our laws here. When I made my
first gun purchase here in VA I went down to the local Police Station to register
it and was laughed at and told point blank “We don’t do that here in this
state.” That was thirty years ago or so and I have made other firearm purchases
since then and as far as I know we still do not register, last purchase 15
years ago.
As far as participation in member or life member hunts, I can’t say that I have
joined in on any of those either. I am lucky enough to live on a 300 acre farm
so I really don’t have a need to go anywhere else to hunt. With all of the members
that you spoke of it shouldn’t really be that hard to organize and being that
they are spread out makes it even better. I know that there is still a section
on this site listing states individually and it would be no harder to get a few
folks together than if we had a cookout together. All it would take would be a little
effort to make a post and then follow through with the plan.
As far as promoting everyone's participation in writing their Senators and
Congressmen, and in those blue states, hammering away at the state and local
level with a steady barrage of letters and e-mails to their elected officials.
I would hope that it is already happening but after seeing how many people
looked at this post and had nothing to say, it would probably be a wasted
effort to ask anyway.
Thank you rthomas4 and boomer1 for your time and
contribution to this post and again I apologize for disappearing like I did but
it could not be avoided.
I see that there is no longer a section of listing per state. Poor move NAHC!

Don't need the Club as each individual state has their own clubs.orgs that have organized the protest and ours was this past Saturday as was many other states and we had a great turnout. |

I get what you are saying Mark and my opinion is you did the right thing posting on this club's site because you are trying to rally the troops to get involved and do something other than just posting opinions on the site (and no one should take that the wrong way, as I also fully support and thoroughly enjoy this site, all the folks on it, and the many opinions/posts they provide), and this site is a very good way to get the word out to many like-minded folks who may take to your idea. I commend you for your idea brother, and you have motivated me to talk to my friends and neighbors, along with some of our local organizations - thanks Big Dawg for that great idea - to find out who would be interested in joining forces for one or more semi-silent protests in my neighborhood here in Pittsburgh. As RT4 mentioned writing to our elected reps, I exercise that in this blue state VERY often to let them know how I feel about many different issues, but your idea is another (great) way to be involved in a different way, and maybe motivate others to get involved and join the protests. Thanks man!

The individual state forums are still here. In order to get down to them, click on "Forums", and page down. Once you've been in any forum, you can't access them from the "Hunting Club Forum" tab. I certainly didn't intend to belittle your idea, it's just that if many others are in the same position as I am, there aren't many NAHC members in the area, and there's no way to contact those who are, unless I know them personally. In my case, the only one I know personally (other than my nephew), here in SC, lives about 65 miles North of me. BTW, no registration in SC, and I can buy any gun and ammo at the same time at any licensed dealer in the state, and walk out the door with no background check since I am a CWP holder. |

When the comforts in feeling like your rights are permanent
and can never be infringed upon the opposition is having victory because they
are not challenged! This is exactly why our nation is being fundamentally
changed. Radical liberals that most thought were defeated in the past simply
went into hiding and made it their goals to change the way citizens of our
great country think about everything. How? They are doing so by becoming re-educators.
They have gone after the hearts and minds of our children and they have polluted
our schools with their corrupt beliefs. They have become politicians and they
are changing all the rules to suit their own wants and needs. We have been
asleep for too many decades and it’s time for a wake-up-call! I will no longer
remain silent and it was and is my intent to make sure that this silent
revolution does not go unnoticed! We must do whatever it takes to defend our
rights or we WILL be stripped of them!
Thanks to everyone for the replies you’ve made and thanks to
those who are already beginning to take a stand! Through GOD’s grace and our
efforts, may we be victorious!

One of those states that the feds don't back on emigration is where I'm from. Arizona. They told Obama to take a flying leap. They don't intend on inforcing his bills. I live in Texas for now until my wife and I retire. Then we are going back to Arizona. Anyway, Texas told Obama to take a hike also. They are both in line with the other states that said not no. But, hell no on his bills. |

Yep ! Our state has no intention of complying either and our country Sheriff sent a letter to the POTUS and emails to all his supporters saying he has no intention of enforcing ANY federal law that infringes on our 2nd Amendment rights. We must support all these states and Sheriffs that have indicated that they will not allow any of our rights to be violated. WE THE PEOPLE have the obligation to send the same message to our Reps and Senators as well as the WH letting them know that we will not tolerate any violations as well. I keep harping about the only thing a politician fears is loss of their jobs and it is up to WE THE PEOPLE to contact them and re-enforce this and let them know that if they do not standup for US we can and will vote them out of their jobs. Folks they are the ones who have drawn the line in the sand and it is up to US to show then that we have no problem with crossing it. |
