Igot a chance to by a Remington 6mm.  I don't know a thing about 6mm, what can you guys tell me about them, what are they good for and how hard is it to ammo, thank you

The 6MM Remington is in the 243 Winchester class, it does have slightly more case capacity, since it is based on the 7 X 57MM case same as the 257 Roberts.  It is a good cartridge for deer and pronghorn sized animals.  Ammunition might be a mixed bag depending on where you live, I haven't looked for any in a few years.  It is an easy case to reload, the one I had loved any 100 grain spitzer and H-4831.  I probably would have bought another one except I have a 257 Roberts that gives me a little more flexibility in bullet weights.

If you reload you can get some real performance out of the 6 mm Rem . factory stuff is fairly mild . Deer and antelope size critters and long range predator / varmint hunting.

Buddy of mine has been deer hunting with his since 1973. I sold one and kick myself on a regular basis about doing that.

I have a Remmington pump in 6mm it's comparable to a .243 here in Ohio I do not have any problems getting factory load's usually Remmington's.

It is a fine cartridge that will shoot 55 gr. bullets at 4000+ fps and to 100 gr. bullets at 3250 fps. I have a chono'd factory 100 gr. ammo a 3100 fps. It would work very well for deer and antelope and has been known to kill an elk or two though I would not use it for elk if I had a choice.

The wife uses a 6x47 Lapua for comp. it is one hard hitting round. We shoot metal targets, it does make deep impressions/dents in the targets, much more so than my .308.
