Sure, just like they did in Australia. One recent newspaper report noted that there is les gun related violence in England than in the US, they fail to mention the nearly total gun ban there and ignore the fact that the violent crime rate is higner there. You do not need a gun to be a mean dirty rotten so and so. |

I'm looking forwards to seeing just what kind of testicular fortitude New Yorkers have!
I hope they impress me... but something tells me it's gonna be sad.

Idiots!! That would make me a criminal, having a 10rd magazine in my 22 pistol and rifle. This has little to do with safety and more about making law abiding citizens into criminals. I really doubt that those dealing illegal guns even give a rats azz what new laws are enacted. Probably only increase their business. The only thing that I agree with is in giving thougher sentences to those using a gun to commit a crime. Even that isn't going to bother those that kill themselves after doing their mass shootings. I may be shooting myself in the foot for wanting thougher sentences for criminals as I would be one with my 22's. Sure glad I don't live in NY. |

Tentative agreement?!?!?! It's a done deal guys!! Passed the senate late last night. At least my state senator voted againts it. He is one of the few with cajones. Got a NRA Alert this a.m. to contact my assemblyman/woman. Mine is Barbara Lifton and she's as freaking liberal as the come. Assembly is voting on it today and as soon as Cuomo signs it, it is law. Sorry, downstate (NYC) rules this state and we all know who is mayor of NYC. So there is no testicular fortitude here. Cuomo figures there's a million of the evil black guns here in NY state. Well, just where does the dumb f-head think they are? Don't see a lot of people in upstate with them. And as for this chit you can only have a 7 shot clip...............hel l, that makes my .22 illegal in a year. Well screw 'em. My .22 is staying just the way it is!!! Need to make all five boroughs of NYC a separate state or district................been saying that for years and 20 years ago I even had petitions circulating around upstate to try and get it done. Didn't think it would fly, but all the signed ones got sent to the department of the interior so they would at least know upstate New Yorkers weren't real happy about supporting NYC with their tax dollars.
Oh, and Remington Arms plant in Ilion is already worried as hell as how it is going to affect them and their employees. Think Bushmaster............. |

Why would the choose and arbitrary number such as 7 rounds except to purposely put hardship on law abiding gun owners. Most firearms I have ever bought came standard with a 5 or 10 round clip... or larger. So anyone now with a 10 round clip needs to get rid of it, and buy a 5 unless a manufacturere makes a 7(?) round clip!
What happens with the old pump 22's or other rifles with tubes? Are these also subjected to the max 7 rounds? How will these be addressed, will they be illegal or will they need to be permanently "fixed" by a gunsmith to meet the new law? |

SG, let's hope someone doesn't think of the old pumps or tubes....................I've got one of those that my cousin gave me when her father passed away. |

Ron... unfortunately the cancer will spread. It's a sad day for New Yorkers ,but they voted the Commies in ,for promises of riches for setting home doing nothing. |

In reading the proposed law today it stated if you have a 10 round clip you may only load seven. It does not mention tube rifle,s but within NYC limits, where there is already a 5 round limit, your local FFL is mandated to either knurl or plug the tube, limiting the capacity to 5. So grampa's 6 shot 30-30 is now illegal. Hmmmm, didn't they say the new proposals would not affect hunting rifles. Don't even let me get started on the ammo ban. I'm going home tonight to talk the ole lady into relocating. And to believe by living here I pay top dollar for this type of regulation. |

NY gun owners deserve it, because many of them couldn't care less what is done to gun owners, as long as it doesn't affect them personally. They all thought Cuomo was only after our "black guns", which most of these NY girly men don't own. They didn't believe it would go as far as it has, including handguns and lots of new fees. And the registration is just the beginning. Soon, all NY guns will have to be registered, at a cost of $100 per year, EACH! Congratulations NY Gun Owners. You have proven yourselves to be the "tools" of the Cuomo administration we all thought you were. And that is about the highest achievement you will ever attain.

It's called gun confiscation and they voted the evil bustards in.
They get what they deserve... I do feel for the minority, their Democracy has spoke.
Maybe some will finally realize the difference between a Democracy and our Republic
This is just the beginning... will the people lay down and cower or do they stand up and risk all for their liberty and freedom?
Any bets??

As far as I have seen, it only applies to assault style rifles. Meaning a rifle with "one" assault style feature which means a pistol grip, etc. Pistols should be safe and all other rifles that don't display a assault feature. But yes, they have one foot in the door, what will be next, pistol grip shotguns? |

The passed bill clearly states all firearms, period. New York is now a seven round state. If a younger member of your family is hunting around in the woods and unknowingly puts 8 22shorts in a rifle modified to only accept 7 22lr's, and some overzealous ranger happens upon him he will be in trouble. Also, all internet ammo sales must be shipped through an FFl. BAM!!! Starting right now you need to be a rich elitest to own, shoot, and hunt with firearms in NY. |

Your right... this is the test for national gun control! I'll predict if nothing is done... all veterans will be disqualified from owning firearms. They'll be deemed to be a high security risk. Obama is now threatening the elderly and those on government entitlements and assistance that the Republicans will take away their government checks ! This threat got him elected and indeed it will continue to work! My question to veterans... when asked to fight for the freedoms of other nations, you rose to the test... will you now fight for your own? |
