For years I've read some peoples bad mouthing unions. And while its true some unions have become to powerful esp in the political arena there is one place a union could save America. AT Walmart!!!!!!! Walmart is destroying the American middle class faster than the govt ever could. A Walmart associate single mother of two when asking her supervisor about insurance is given a pamphlet outlining the govt programs she is eligible for. WIC, Medicaid, Social Services, and etc. So much for paying a living wage! Walmart is the largest corporation ever cited for knowingly hiring illegal aliens. More corporate officers have been cited for contempt of court or charged with perjury than Wall Street Bankers! And afterwards given substantial raises. Walmart regurlarily stores fertilizers and pesticides in their parking lots many of these bags are torn and during rainstorms wash into municipal drinking water. 22 states have cited them for violations of the Clean Water Act. More violent crime occurs in Walmart parking lots than any other retailer. The cameras in Walmart parking lots are not monitored UNLESS supervision suspects there is some sort of union organizing going on. The govt should be using exsisting anti trust laws against Walmart. Walmarts that don't operate 24hrs have been found guilty of health and safety violations in that they lock cleaning crews into their stores; so there is no way out in case of fire or other emergency. This is esp true where they hire illegals to do the cleaning. Supervisors when finding an associate has gone over forty hours in a week will make those hours disappear. Complaining is grounds for immediate termination. Corporate policy is to keep labor costs low. That's why you can never find an associate when you need one. Corporate policy is no overtime if neccesary move an associates hours into the next pay period or just make those hours go away. Complaining is cause for termination. All Walmart breakrooms are monitored by hidden cameras and audio bugs. Walmart regularily uses fear and intimidation to stifle employee complaints to illegal practices. The NLRB has a special section for Walmart employee complaints. Walmart has had more violations of the Equal Oppurtunity Act and Civil Rights Act filed against them than any corporation in America.

The only place Walmart plays by the rules is Germany  where unions already exsisted in the retail industry and they were forced to negotiate with them. German workers can't understand why American Walmart workers aren't unionized they are disgusted by Walmart's treatment of American workers.

What is lacking in the original diatribe is one very important fact; THESE JOBS ARE HELD BY VOLUNTEERS. There is nothing compelling anybody to work at WalMart. If you do not like it, do not work there. Problem solved.

You're wasting your time here. Unfortunately, there is little support for Unions on this site. After all- if you support Unions, you're probably a commie...
