Happy New Year Members,
I need some help. I am looking at getting a new trail camera. The one that I have currently is very old and the display is starting to die. The trail camera is a Moultrie but the reviews I have read and an experience my friend had about their customer service is something to be desired. I have looked at Bushnell Trophy cam but I heard that in colder temps (15 degrees and colder) the unit does not function. I am from Nebraska so colder temps is a main concern. I dont so much need a super fast trigger speed just good pics and reliability. I dont have the funds for a reconyx but can anyone help me out with some ideas or reviews.
Thanks, Bowhunt_01 |

Take a look at hunten trail cameras. We got two this year to try out and with them priced at half to a third of the cost they are great they even work well enough set on a three shot burst to capture bucks sparing at night, not to mention when my dad did some research they had the best trigger speed and cost a lot less than the brand name and i think they even make some of the big name cameras |

I have a Wildgame IR4. For its price I have been pleased with it. The only problem I have had was when I first set it up I had it set to night time only and had a lot of blank pics of scenery at dusk. I switched it to 24 hr. mode and didn't have any problems. I feel it has a good battery life (4-C), would show 3/4 battery after being out for a month. It can take 30sec. videos, I had it set on this at 30sec. interval at my feeder and had 120 videos in a weeks time. More than half were of coons. Counted 8 of them in 1 vid. Had another of a couple of young bucks sparring under my feeder. I hunted that spot 5 of the 7 AMs I had camera there and had a pic of a nice 8 pt at the feeder on one of the AMs I wasn't there. I had planned on buying the Wildgame combo pack that came with a rechargable lead-acid battery that I had seen earlier in the year but were out of them when I went to buy it. I have had a rechargable battery with a solar charger on my feeder and after 4 seasons it still shows battery at 100%. I think it has paid for itself. |

I used 2 Moultrie M80's, one Covert, 2 Wildgame and 1 Tasco last year and was not satisfied with any of them. The M80's stopped taking pics, the Covert was only good to 25' and was the most expensive ($140), Tasco was sent back for repair after about 1 month (they sent a new one) and I watched game at the feeders that never showed up on the Wildgame cameras.
So, I am at a loss. Haven't got a clue on a reliable camera that operates to it's advertised range for less than $150. I don't know what you get for more money but that may be the answer. |

If you can afford 'em, NOTHING beats a cuddeback!!!!!!!!!!! I only have one but wish I had a half dozen of 'em. Hands down the next best camera for the price is Moultrie. I've had just about every brand you can name, without getting into the $300.00 plus range, and Moultrie is much better than Wildgame, Wildlife Innovations, Spycam, or Bushnell. |

I currently have moultrie and wildgame innovations. I am a true believer in moultrie. One of my moultries is currently getting repaired. I will have to wait to see how their customer service. For the price, the wildgame has been pretty good for the price. The only downfall for the wildgame cameras has been the battery life. |

My BTC work in the cold. Not super impressed with the photos, but it does have a sensitive trigger and when it quit Bushnell sent a new one quickly. The replacement has been going strong for over a year now. I think a lot of cold failures is due to the battery's going dead. |

This is for all members looking to buy a trail camera. Last year I purchased 2 of wildgames N2 trail cameras while the photos they took were of excellent quality they did not even last one season. So to all u hunting club members I say buyer beware the old addage you get what you pay for should also apply to the type of equipment you use for hunting. The trail cams were on sale at 49 dollars dropped down from 59. I contacted wildgame and they said they could do nothing without a sales receipt. So to all members I say buyer beware check all resources to find the best cam for your hard earned dollars |
