I think I have some kind of varmint but don't know if its a fox or a coyote, I saw it one evening right at dark and couldn't tell which it was. Instead of spending hours in the woods trying to find it, what is the best way to find out what it is? I was thinking game camera but how do I bait it into the picture?

Chicken livers, or any type of meat scraps, even dog food. Hell, I've even gotten pictures of 'yotes taking ears of corn off of corn piles for the deer!

You should be able to identify it from it's size and appearance.  Fox are much smaller and their tales aren't nearly as bushy as a 'yote.

Dig a post hole and stick a wood post in the ground. Pack the dirt around the post. Then pee on it. Get your dog to pee on it. Get anybody you can to pee on it. Then let the camera do the rest.
The more time I spend here, the less time I spend hunting, so say something important.

If you use some sort of meat scraps try to tie it or attach it to some thing to keep crow's or buzzards from taking it. Also there are coyotoe or fox scent's available that would assist in getting them in camera/gun range
