It seems to me that the kids are starting to be more successfull than some of their hunting parents, which tells me that the parents are doing a hellll of a good job bringing them up and teaching them. Congrats to all.

absolutely ternera. I was out with my Dad and Mom, she just went with us... not hunting. We were still hunting down this gully and all of the sudden my Dad stopped, so naturally we froze too. Next thing I know he's whispering "shoot, it's a buck". Problem was, there was a slight hill directly in my line of sight and I couldn't even see the freekin' deer and I whispered that to him. He just kept saying "shoot!".... well, you get the pattern. Finally I heard his .243 bark an we were gutting a nice 8 pointer but I think he was still PO'd at me when he died.

You know it. I get much more of a blessing to see my partners getting their animal. Sometimes as Steve said, you have to close the deal or lose it altogether. My younger son was first up but he took to long and the buck was blowing out so his older brother killed it. The younger son will sooner or later get his and it'll be that much sweeter for him when he does.

No Steve, they are spoiled rotten. We drove the 4 wheeler right to it. The older one has had some good drags with elk and deer over the years but the younger one is new at this biggame hunting.

Bill,
Happy New Year ole friend. I texted you this morning but it didn't go through. We are getting settled in. It's been rough on the cattle so far but I hope they adjust soon. Tell the Mrs. we said Hello.

Hiker: tell your "youngest" that he was taking too much time; "you mouch....you lose", and the older boy didn't hesitate. Hellll of a good job.

Congrats to the young ones on there deer. My part of Ky is still in recovery from a severe deer loss from blue tongue a few years ago. They are starting to come back. Just did not see one with 8pts or better as that is all I shoot anymore. And welcome to KY.
