I had used the Rage for several years and preferred the 2 blade over the 3 blade. I switched to the Schwacker last season after seeing the promos and other penetration tests on shooting through shoulder bone on youtube. My only shot was a miss last season. This season I went to a crossbow (380fps). My first doe was 35yds and I aimed a little farther forward than I wanted to miss a vine. I hit a little high on shoulder. No blood trail to follow but found my arrow 100yds away. The doe had bitten off the end of the knock and tore a vane in pulling it out. My second deer was 77yds and made a perfect pass through heart shot and only went 20 yds. After another hit deer with no blood trail to follow I went back to Rage 1 3/4" 2 blade made for crossbows. My first time hunting from a new ground blind on edge of wheat field. I shot over the same doe twice and lost both arrows buried in wheat field. The next doe dropped in her tracks from a spine hit broken arrow and had to use a second to finish her off. The cost of those lost and broken arrows and broadheads are starting to add up.

I have to mostly blame myself for the failures of the broadheads. In practice after getting the ranges figured out on the reticles I have been dead on. I have no way of knowing if the broadheads were opening prematurely or not as a possible cause. I decided to try a fixed blade and was wanting to try the Muzzy but Dicks didn't have any in 125 grain so I went with the Thunderhead. I have readjusted my scope and recalibrated the reticle yardages but haven't had the chance to use them yet.

So from my experiences I will have to vote for shot placement

I use Magnus Stingers, I have yet to take a deer with them but in practice they fly consistently like my field points.

I used to swear by Thunderheads until my local shop owner started doggin their long distance flights (I never saw what he was talking about but I took his word). Knowing I was planning on getting pins out to 60 yds this year I switched to NAP Killzones, 100gr I will not change!! I shot a doe at 62 yds, spined her. The chunk it took out of her spine on a two blade was insane. I also put down a 170's buck by "Texas Heart Shot," obviously didn't mean to but it happens. But honestly, whatever you think works for you, it does. With the technology of these days, you can go to Walmart and pick up some broadheads.

Swhacker 1.75"

2012  Quad 400 crossbow, 42mm red dot sight, crank, carbon express maxima 22" bolts with nockturnals installed.

A deer before christmas and a deer on the 1st day of 2013 = both complete pass throughs and they went no further than 20 yds.

Good point GLW , letting one go because you know you will rip a BIG hole in it doesn't come close to "I'm going to hit that that spot" . They all kill with that mindset .

NAP Spitfire for mechanical. I have had 3 passthroughs in 3 attempts.

NAP Thunderheads for fixed. My friend uses them and has not had to track far.

I tend to agree with GLW though. It is more about confidence than the product if you are buying from a top quality vendor. I have just always gotten the deer I shot with NAP. So why change?

best BHs I ever used were one I ordered out of an old Boy's Life Mag..about half a million years ago..came with 5 Gillet Blue Blades and a tool for cutting/breaking them on the diagonal..had 3 arrow heads that had a chiesle point that unscrewed, you slide the fractured balde in to slots half on each side and screwed the tip back on..then you used head cement to glue it to your wooden shaft arrow (not at all unlike the replacable fixed blade BH's we use today (read Muzzy here)

I have been using NAP Shockwaves for years, deer almost always drop within sight.  In my opinion they can't be beat for the price.

I switched to Rages a few years back and won't use anything else. The penetration with them is unbelievable.

Slick Tricks. I used Thunderheads before the Tricks and I didn't really like them. The Tricks fly exactly like my field tips and boy do they hit hard. And leave one heck of a blood trail to top it off.
