I live in southwest Washington and have been an avid bow hunter for 15 years running.  I keep watching these hunting shows on tv and I believe anyone with a camera can kill a white tail.  Is it just me or is white tail deer hunting the easiest hunting around?  I've watched many people shoot deer from a box that stands 20 ft in the air.  After they kill their deer in the food plot they look in the camera and say, " That was a good Hunt"!  What a crock of shit!  If any of you white tail hunters think I'm out of line, come hunt the northwest where you don't sit on food plots  in a heated box or a treestand.  I'd really like to try white tail hunting sometime just for a vacation, but I guess I'm just not ready to go HARVESTING!  Uncle Ted is one of the few that I respect because he doesn't descriminate, he just wants backstraps!  Maybe Im just jealous and would like an easy hunt for once.  It just seems tooooo easy.  Correct me if I'm wrong but I highly doubt it!

You want to SERIOUSLY have to HUNT whitetails?  Go to the Adirondacks of NY or head up to the Northern Maine woods! Don't get your hopes up about coming back with anything but good memories. If you do, it's a BIG plus!

I will admit that I have it pretty easy hunting here in Ks. Very seldom do I have to drag a deer very far. Sometimes I can drive my truck right to it in a wheat field or have the use of an atv to get it out of the woods. It is not quite as easy as just going out and you come home with a deer. I also bow hunt and spend 3 - 4 AM and or PM a week for 3 months and have 2 deer in the freezer, one I couldn't find , and another a coyote beat me to.

I can understand where you're coming from. I have cousins that bow hunt elk in the timber country in Oregon, and have seen pictures of some of the monsters they have taken. I can only imagin the work it takes to pack one of those out. But don't hold your breath waiting for me to apoligize for my style of hunting. I am thankful for what I have and have put in a lot of work building that box blind (no heater but do have a comfy chair). I still have to put in the time to be there at the right time. Since I can't move that blind around I do have a feeder to help in attracting them but the deer don't swarm to it in herds like you might think. I havn't had any deer that I could or would want to shoot at this season (a button buck several times and a couple of fawns that were chased off by a young fork buck).

jmyers i live in washington too, but i have hunted whitetails, muleies and now hunt only blacktails! while i can see where your coming from, you have to understand that those shows have to have at least a 90% kill rate or they lose viewers! people want to see a animal go down, trust me whitetails with a bow is not that easy on public land! they duck or jump alot of arrows! a bit easier with a firearm! but still a challenge! i have hunted whitetails in washington, oregon, texas and cali! before you speak you might go and try it! i can tell you in texas you almost have to have a high box stand, or you may never see 1! i have hunted around vancouver as well as camas all around the lewiston/clarkston area as well as the pot holes area!! but stay right here on mount rainier now!! go experiance for yourself then come and post this again!!
