What's up with the webbie clock on forum posts? It's currently 2006 hrs CST here, and some of the posts I read say they were posted 4 hours from now. That would put the posting individual some 2-3 hours east of the east coast. Do it need attention, or what?

See what I mean, I've only passed 3 minutes here, but Webbie says I posted it 4 hours from now. Last I remember, the east coast was a max of 2 hour difference from CST. Go figure?

yep,  it's been that way since the "new and improved" changes.

This might be the Central Greenwich Mean time (or whatever ot is called) to make us more global friendly.

Well.... it's CLOSE to GMT, but it's NOT actually GMT. Your post says 8:04 but actual GMT at that point was probably more like 7:58 or so. I think it's just set by someones watch when the servers get rebooted.

You are right Steve it is about 6 min off. But it is still zulu time. you can scroll down to the bottom of this page, ther is an active clock there it will tell the time for the time zone you are in and zulu time. the site is about 6 min ahead of that, but all time stamps for all post made are stamped with zulu time after you login.

That's why I favor simply using the time stamp that actually shows on the forum posts. Can be ZERO arguments that way

Ther can be no argument any way. It does not matter what time zone you are in or the time you have. It will post the same time for every post made by anyone one. As zulu time the same for all. It is 08:25 PM zulu every where in the world, you just add the 4,5,6 hours needed to your time to get zulu. But zulu does not change.

My question is why is the site 6 min ahead of world time. The offical US and World time.

I still vote for the time shown in the forum, as we've done prior. Simple, no offsets, etc....

Yep when it say 06:00 PM forum time any and all post made at that time will say 06:06PM. For me that will be 2:06 CST or 1:06 CST DST. Zulu does not use Day light saveings time.
