Two polls, two countries... in the U.s, 46% believe in strict Creationism, while only 15% believe in evolution.

POLLS CAN BE SKEWED IN ANY DIRECTION YOU WANT THEM TO GO.But assuming this one is correct it just proves why the U.S. HAS BEEN BLESSED  and canada not so much

I'd be willing to bet that if a TRUE poll could be conducted, we'd see a response of about 50-50 in both countries, with an upward trend toward evolution.

I agree- a poll can be manipulated in any way, provided that you take your sample from a small, non- representative group, or you ask leading questions. These polls, IMHO, were not manipulated, and actually reflect the feeling of their respective populace. The questions were as follows:

Which of the following statements comes closest to your views on the origin and development of human beings?
1) Human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life, but God guided this process,
2) Human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life, but God had no part in this process,
3) God created human beings pretty much in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years or so.

For me, being the Agnostic that I am, it floors me...
There are another 32% of Americans, and about 22% for Canadians, that believe God guided the process- this, I can at least comprehend. But the Young Earth Creationists? Just how out of touch with reality does one need to be?

I would, to be sure, believe that before I believed the Young Earth theory... I actually don't find that theory that incomprehensible.

Am I safe in assuming you are either an agnostic or an atheist?
I'd guess that those of us that don't attend church like to think that the general populace is a little more advanced in their thinking than they actually are.

What?You cant be completely agnostic....Hell, US americans helped save you frogs in 2 world wars....Yeah your not a complete frog...but we also helped with the means to attack.."YES US MADE"....I wonder why. so many canadians believe, dont believe in god ,but they all prayed that we we save their sorry asses. I think most of canadians have been anally probed by other species...Each other, dogs,, elk, moose, (which describes most women in canada)..chew on that.

Hey Y H you seem to and always have seemed to be well read on subjects .I have a question .What is your thoughts on Agenda 21 and Biodiversity And the UN talks on the matter .Just your opinion on the matter .And how is it being implemented in Canada . As a miner it is a big issue with some of us .The mining sites I go to we discuss it all the time.And we do have some from Canada that I have met while mining .Some real nice people .Thank you .

I have no idea what Agenda 21 is.... I flew out to the west coast yesterday to see my daughter for Christmas, but I'll try to do a little research and get back to you. Needless to say, your opinion, given your background, will be much more intelligently formed than mine, but you know me- I rarely miss an opportunity to chime in.
