Typical ambulance chasing low life scum of a law firm. Using this tragedy to solicit business. These guys should be shot, that would be justified!!!!!!!!!!!! |

The dead mother is the responsible party for this tragedy... was were the guns not locked up by her. Responsible gun ownership, by responsible gun owners ,was not the case in nearly every shooting or killing we have... bar NONE!! How do you legislate the evil that someone whats to pursue?

| "The BIG Lie"
The phrase was also used in a report prepared during the war by the United States Office of Strategic Services in describing Hitler's psychological profile:[5][6]
His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.[7]

Swonel, How do you know the guns were not locked up? I have never read that. How do you know he did not beat or hold her at knife point to get the weapons? Can you point to your source? |

It is the logical conclusion. She was found still in nightgown in bed. No mention of struggle, so I would conclude that she was shot while still asleep. |

So, that doesn't preclude that the guns may have been locked up. He could have gotten the key prior to killing her. Just sayin'. |

These vultures were almost as fast with their opinions and on the scene as the anit's were. The ones to be sued will be of course the Lanza family, the school, and anybody else they think they can get money out of !!! I think they should og retro with the lawyers and doctors as they were at one time and allow no advertising nor ambulance/case chasing ! When they started allowing the lawyers and doctors to advertise both of those professions busines went up and have continued to grow. It especially irks me to see the ads on tv by the lawyers encouraging people with certain medical problems or car accidents, falls, negligence, etc etc etc to call as they MAY have a legal claim. The doctors are just as bad with their ads targeting those who will all of a sudden find that they are not feeling as well as they should and make that appointment. Disgusting does not even come close to describing these slimy excuses for human beings. |

I'm certain that Sig, Glock and Bushmaster will also be at the top of their list, even though there are supposed to be laws against such suits. |

Funny thing, I just checked the comments on that page, and there were none. I wonder what happened to my stinging criticism I posted yesterday on the page? |

I have no proof, and this is entirely my speculation, but I would argue that the guns in question were never really the mothers. I contend that she was a straw purchaser for the boy who was not legally allowed to purchase or possess handguns. The surviving brother and father may be able to shed some light when this comes to trial. As far as who is going to get sued over this?? Everyone and anyone. Deep pockets theory. (my off-the-wall person to be sued is George Lucas) The villain is dead, and has left nothing of value to compensate any victims. His mother is dead, and while most likely having some assets, nothing close to millions that will be awarded to the survivors and families of this tragedy. The one party that is truly culpable is the school district since they obviously failed to provide a reasonable means of protection and security to those in trusted in their care.

Roo, I don't believe your claim that she bought the guns for her kid. It is without fact.
As far as the school not providing adequate security. The gunman broke into the school thru a window with the guns. Everybody can claim that the security should have predicted and prepared for this event. However, just look at the fight against arming teachers or placing armed guards/cops at schools even after this event. Do you really think that if the school or state suggested this prior to the event it would have gone unchallenged?
I for one hope the state of CT denies the request to sue.
Lawyer for Newtown shooting survivor says $100M claim is about security

I can see, suing the state, for it's restrictive gun laws and the establishment of gun free zones. I believe the school did all it could within the parameters established by the state. As for Lanza's mother, it was shown that she was the individual who was a frequent visitor to the gun ranges in and around the area. From what I saw on the news, no one was ever absolutely positive that she ever even took the kid with her to any of them. Everything was pure speculation, and the people who knew and remembered Nancy Lanza had no recollection of Adam ever being with her at any of those gun ranges. Therefore, I don't believe she was guilty of any "straw" purchases for her psychotic son!!!!!!!!!! |

SG, that's why i stated it was entirely my opinion that she was a straw purchaser. RT, thanks for clearing that up. I would have bet my last dollar they were hers, but not necessarily 'for' her.

Seeing as it was reported that she was in the process of having him committed to an institution and knew he was mentally ill I don't see her buying any firearms for him. Does this mean that she didn't ? Not at all but it would a true conumdrum if she did. Untill the investigation is completed and we see what the other family members have to say eveyrthing is speculation. |
