Thanks for the greetings. Sorry for the delay my father in law is going to Korea for a year deployment, so trying to spend as much time with him. I will give you some background.. My family and I moved from Tacoma WA 3 yrs ago with our son and daughter. The first year was hard not knowing anyone here and having to leave my family and friends. So my father in law decided it would be a good idea to get my hunting card and license. I thought to myself what the hell am i gonna do out in the woods i know butt-kiss other than how to shoot a weapon. So nothing happened the first 2 seasons i went other than seeing a buck but didn't have time to shoot. Did some squirrel, Dove, Rabbit anything to kill time before and  after deer season. The start of deer season this year i shot my 1st Doe, Nothing big 60 to 70 lbs but after that i was hooked. So we decided to go Hog hunting and i came home with 2 250 lb plus sows and a male piglet.  So now i love hunting rather do that then stay home on the weekend even if i don't get anything. I also like to fish when hunting season is over with. Well thats a little bit about me. Thanks for looking

I'm in South Carolina, and maybe even a bit closer to Augusta (68 miles) than Leslie. He and I just got together for a face to face, maybe that's something we could work out for all three of us to get together.

That sounds like a plan. Now from what i have heard Deer season is a bit longer in SC than here in GA... What is the price for a out of state hunting license?

It is, down here in the low country. Currently non-resident deer license is $225.00, and it should be $2500.00 with a one deer limit to discourage out of state hunters! They have already caused our bag limits to be decreased beginning with next season, and have pushed the price of leased land so high that locals can't afford to lease hunting properties, and for the last couple of years they have been lobbying to eliminate hound hunting for deer. I predict that in the next 10 years, those of us who hunt with dogs, will no longer be able to follow our traditions. That's why I am opposed to non-resident hunters, unless they are booking a guided hunt with a licensed guide service, and that should be limited to a 3 day, 1 deer hunt!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm always up for a meet and greet. Especially if it revolves around a table with food on it! Interacting with fellow hunters is THE BEST benefit of this club. Hope to see you guys soon. Our deer season wraps up on the 15th so then my Saturdays will be open.

Yep, my season ended yesterday, and this Saturday will be going to the Grand American Coon Trials in Orangeburg. But after that, no Saturday plans, til turkey season starts March 15th.

Joe, he lives just across the Savannah River, not far from me, in Po Robbin. Travis and I met him the Thursday before Christmas for lunch, over in Sylvania, GA. US 301 goes right through it on it's way from NY to Miami. 301 and US 17 used to be the major North-South inland and coastal highways until I-95 was built. Now both routes are littered with signs of "Jewish lightening".
