The NRA, IMO, is the last defense we have before blood is spilled in this country.

NRA calls out violence in video games, cites ‘Kindergarten Killers’

Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2012/12...z2FjUqYgD2

Citing popular video games like “Grand Theft Auto” and “Bulletstorm,” NRA head Wayne LaPierre decried the violence in popular movies and video games, saying that such “entertainment” is “aired like propaganda films on splatterdays.”

Following the Newtown, Conn., elementary school massacre, national attention has been turned back to http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2012/12...deo-games/">the effect that popular but ultraviolent video games are having on children and young men like Adam Lanza, who was known by his friends to be a gamer. In its first press conference since the killings, NRA executive vice president LaPierre blamed not guns but virtual guns.

'There exists in this country, sadly, a callous, corrupt and corrupting industry that sells violence against its own people.'

- NRA head Wayne LaPierre

“There exists in this country, sadly, a callous, corrupt and corrupting industry that sells and sows violence against its own people, through vicious, violent video games with names like ‘Bulletstorm,’ ‘Grand Theft Auto,’ ‘Mortal Kombat’ and ‘Splatterhouse.’”

In addition to the more popular games, LaPierre cited a game called “Kindergarten Killers,” in which a janitor goes on a rampage and shoots children.

“It’s been online for 10 years. How come my research staff can find it, and all of yours couldn’t -- or didn’t want anyone to know you had found it?”

The readily accessible game, programmed in Shockwave, was first created in 2002 by Gary Short, a 19 year old English student, according to http://web.archive.org/web/20040211.../zsoa.com/" rel="external ext-linked" target="_blank" jquery16408612420806434047="14">a cached version of the ZSOA.com website hosted on archive.org.

Kindergarten Killers is currently hosted on dozens of gaming websites, which themselves carry thousands of Flash or Shockwave games, not necessarily violent ones.

“Isn’t fantasizing about killing people as a way to get your kicks really the filthiest form of pornography?” LaPierre said.

I was less than impressed by Wayne LaPiere's ( sp ) response as he used info that has been floating around since the 60's. I would have thought he would have done much better research before responding as his lack of facts made him appear as the anti's see him and the NRA's members. I did and do however agree that we need armed security in each and every school.

armed security costs money. I'M Not against it but how do we pay for it,more  property taxes?I know many will think this cruel but I  don't have children and believe I already pay  enough for the little frackers education.any teacher who has a ccw should be allowed to carry, no sense giving the anti-gun teachers a weapon they wouldn't use it anyway and would likely shoot themselves in the arse if they tried!

I agree.  I have never been impressed with Mr. LaPierre when he speaks nationally.  He comes across as a weak leader in my opinion.

I certainly miss Charlton Heston, but I didn't think LaPierre was that bad. Part of the problem we have now has been caused by too much Federal Government interference, let each state deal with their own solutions. I still believe the ultimate fix for our schools would be privatization. If local school administration was turned over to private corporations, we could have better education and much improved security, and it would probably decrease property taxes as well!!!

We pay for the school police here by having a vote on a SPLOST ( Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax ) and the taxpayers voted the tax themselves so no aruging about it. The tax was an extra penny on local sales tax. It works and works great. I also like the idea of hiring unemployed Veterans for this job as they are used to long hours and low pay and are already trained in both firearms and security measures. This is a very simple solution therefore it won't pass muster of the Liberal/Democraps as they have to make it way more hard than it has to be. They will also want 1000's of pages of rules and regulations.

We just had a local option sales tax rammed down our throats with the last election. We were told either approve the 1 cent local option, or have property taxes increase anywhere from 8-10%!!!!!!! I figured I may as well vote for it, since that would mean the people who don't pay any property taxes would have to chip in just as much as those of us who do pay 'em........which would include all of those out of state hunters who have already fugged the taxpayers and property owners!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rt4: around here, all those in a mobile home(trailer) and less than 5 acres don't have to pay property taxes. Therefore a sales tax increase will at least get them to pay taxes on whatever they buy. How do they fare in your neck of the woods?
"You" showed us you were not prejudist the first time around. Now you showed us you are stupid and voted for him. Hello Idiocracy! N. Florida red neck
