my grandfather recently picked up an old 32 short rim fire , its lever action , single shot , and has a half octagon half round barrel. not sure what the make and model is . was looking for some insight on how mutch it may be worth and if they even make them anymore.

You will need to get the onfo on the rifle leaving off the serial number but all other info on the rifle is needed to give you any info on the questions you ask. There are a couple of sites that may have some of the ammo but even if they do it most likely be priced very high.

I suspect it's a Stevens Favorite. The lever actually operates a falling block that slides up and down to seal the chamber. Slide a cartridge in, raise the block, pull the hammer back and fire. Repeat.

I'm not sure about 32 Short but 32 Long rimfire ammo shows up at gunshows and sometimes estate sales. Last I saw at a gunshow was $50 bucks for a 50 round box.

If you can find the right bullets , and other componets you CAN RELOAD your 32 rimfire . There's an artical in the Backwoodsmans on reloading rimfire 32 short and 32 long and 25 stevens rimfire.

 the Backwoodsman  volume 33  no.6  Nov./Dec. 2012 .   www.backwoodsmanmag.com

It dose'nt tell you everything  but it gives you some basics , and some how to info.
