Does anyone have any tips for hunting pheasant by yourself? I don't have a dog to go hunting with, and my kids are still too young to be "the dog", as i was when i went with my stepdad, so i am wondering how to accomplish this by yourself.

Ive found an area that is perfect for Pheasant, but when i walk through it, i cant kick anything up...aside from an angry skunk

I have almost always hunted by myself. I just bought a dog last year. The reason was that I could jump the birds but had a problem finding downed birds. A lab took care of that problem.
Anyway, the best way that I found hunting the fields and later CRP in Kansas was to hunt slow, stopping frequently, and in a zigzag path. Walking a straight line doesn't work well as the birds have more of an opportunity to go to one side or the other. Also, they get nervous and when you stop it gets on their nerves (if there are any near).
good luck.
