I was muzzleloader hunting on the last day of this years season and came upon another hunter that had shot this deer, he said it was a legal buck and looked a little different. After he had shot this deer it had ran into a few trees and basicly plowed the ground before dying, one horn was found, that side was a legal buck with two points on one side. Long story short this deer looked awful, missing alot of hair, there was no or very little hair on the belly and between rear legs, the skin had a bluish tint to it and had some split skin, also was giving off a bad odor. He decided not to gut or tag, I can't blame him I don't think I could have ate any of the meat. As far as the horn both had fell off, one after the shot and the other very recently, seems a little early to me. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this before? Thanks for your time.
