Been seeing this one on my camera for over a month. But he always showed up after sunset or before sunrise. I guess he was running late this morning.   |

Didn't weigh him. Bout all I could say is he was a pain in the azz trying to load him in the back of my blazer. Tied a rope around my spare tire, then lifted his head and front shoulders up on my tailgate and looped the rope around his antlers to hold him. Then lifted his back end up on the tailgate and rolled him in.
As for the rut, hard to tell, the guys were chasing the girls back about mid November. I figure if we get a good cold spell it'll probably pick up again. |

Awesome buck Fred. What kind of rifle you got there? Thanks It's a Springfield 03A3 I sportrized back in the early 90s. A Shilen SS barrel chambered in 30.06, Timney trigger, Reinhart Fajen select walnut montecarlo stock, hinged floor plate, Kick-eez recoil pad, topped with a 3.5x10 Leupold VX3 scope. |

Nice buck, Congrats. Our rifle season just ended yesterday. I didn't get a shot. Heard a lot of shooting around me the first couple of days then it was really quit the remainder. The full moon and warm nights probably aided the deer into going nocturnal. |
