That you all for your explanation of bore butter. Now, that does raise another question. Using full bore conicals, they require lube to fill the grooves correct? what should i use?

I do want to find something i can mold myself. If i need to remove the projectile, it will be ruined. It's either fire it, or pull it with a pulling jag. There's no "pushing" it out of my barrel. Either way, it's ruined. So, if i can simply remold it, then i just saved $1.

If you think a moment you can answer your own question. When you lube a bullet you lube the sides for ease of loading and do not push lube down the barrel ahead of the bullet. Yes some lube may be left in the barrel but none under the bullet to contaminate the powder. Something that my son has found that has improved his accuracy is the use of a felt wad under a flat based bullet so it sits between the bullet and the powder. It works for him.

Mark that is interesting results. I too have a Genesis and pellets. Maybe I will have to run some tests with the Genesis and see if I can get it to fail. Although I will admit, that Genesis is a nice rifle. It shoots very well, and seems very well built. So since you had such good luck, this might be something to look in to. This year I hunted with flintlocks. I am determined to shoot another deer with a flintlock. I can't explain why I need to do this.

Unfortunatley, i was not able to put it to use this ml season. this next summer, i am planning on spending as much time as poss. to figure out what my rifle likes. trying to get it dialed in in the freezing Michigan cold just sux. lol i found the powder that i and the rifle both like, now just finding the right projectile
