I'm looking for a good bullet to use on both fox and coyote that will keep fur damage to a minimum, and still create enough internal havoc to keep them from running off. I'll be hand-loading for both my boy's and my bolt .223's, and possibly for my AR. I'd prefer not using a FMJ.

I mostly use winchester 55gr pointed soft points, those are my first choice. I also killed a big mountain lion useing remington 45gr jacketed hollow point,he went down instently and bullt did not exit so only left a hole about the size of my little finger.I quit use FMJ BECAUSE i WAS HAVING TO MANY DOGS GET Up and run away,I seldom have that problem anymore

Any good hollow point will do a great job just be sue they are not supe close if it does not exit it will make just a small hole Iam trying the Berger VDL in 55 grain this year it is supposed to do good I will try to let you all know how they do. also if you want a agood wesite for hunting and shooting equipment of to this site. I use Hornady's V-max bullets.

75 grain in .243

50 grain in .223

40 grain in .204

they all work for me, depends more on hunting conditions

Well, I already have some 40, 55, and 60gr V-max's. I'll load some of those up and see how they work. Thanks!

Good results with Win 45 gr HP factory ammo and handloads with 36 Gr varmint grenades in 223. Heavier Varmint grenades may be more forgiving on raking shots, but I don't have a fast twist barrel to test them. They are too long to stabilize in a 1:10 twist.

i use berger 40 grain vld in my 222 and i love em puts the yote on his butt

I USED 50GR NOSLER BALLIST TIPS FOR BOTH FOR YEARS IN 223

I use Sierra 52 gr BTMK bullets , very little damage to fur , and take them down quick , berger makes great bullets to but I mainly use bergers in my .17 Rem
