Wading into the swamp this morning, my gun, my gear, and my azz all took a swim!!!!!!!!!!!  Waders were full of mud, knife sheath was full of mud, Beretta was full of mud, and my azz was freezing!!!!!!!!!!  Ended up leaving after the dogs went past, came home stripped, cleaned up, then actually washed out the waders, the gun, and the knife and sheath.  Then spent about an hour breaking down and cleaning the gun.   Not the morning I had anticipated!!!!!!!!!!!  Thankfully, this afternoon when I go sit in a tower stand or tree stand, no water has to be encountered, unless I kill one that ends up in the damn beaver pond, again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not only they are hard to dry, but athlete's feet seem to proliferate on the damp and dark walls of those boots. Sorry to hear that rt, but shoit happens.

RT,

Being baptized in a could river is no fun.  In 1993 I was climbing into a canoe to go hunt up river.  Needless to say I was to aggressive and rolled the canoe.  Luckily I found everything.  After a change of clothes and grabbing my fathers gun I was able to get out and hunt.

Lunker, the one I had to retrieve from the beaver pond, was a neck shot that dropped him dead in his tracks, the problem was he was standing in the damn pond when I shot him!

And yes, a peet boot dryer is a necessity, not an option!!!!!!!!!!!

RT when cleaning those waders the best way to avoid the athlete's feet bacteria is to use a final rinse of clean water AFTER using a cup of bleach in each wader and then fill with water and let sit for about 2-3 minutes. I prefer air drying to any heat source other than the good ol sun. I hang mine upside down from one of the branches of an apple tree and let the air and sun do the drying job.

Dawg, when I first wash 'em outside, I will hang 'em on my deck railing in the sun, like you said, upside down. Then when the outsides are good and dry and all of the water has completely drained I put 'em on the peet dryer in the house. I won't leave anything outside overnight at my house, since I never know when the squirrels will decide to chew something or a 'yote or wild dog might come along and make off with it.
