My family hunts 400 acres in the UP after hunting the property for 10 years with some success we harvested 4 nice bucks this year.
My dad shot a nice 6 pointer- would have been an 8 but it didnt have browtines
Our hunting buddy Mike shot a nice 8 pointer
My brother got a nice 8 pointer
I shot a small 7 pointer.
They shot all of theirs on opening day and I got mine 2 days later.

How many can you take and how often do you get to hunt the property? That's some great results for a three day span! |

We each have 2-3 stands that we sit based off of sign. We only hunt this property during the Michigan Gun Deer season which opens Nov. 15th and closes Nov. 30th. We have 5 food plots, 3 feeders and a couple of tree stands set up on travel routes. |

Damn, I couldn't survive with only 15 days to gun hunt!!!!! I guess you have an archery and muzzle loader season, also? South Carolina's low country may not be the best place in the world, but thank goodness for our any weapon August 15 to Jan 1 season!!!!!!!! |

Congrats. I have to wait untill the 11-28 for rifle season. I have gotten 3 with crossbow and lost one. Our rifle season lasts only 10 days untill left over antlerless season in Jan. 1-15. I am with rt that I couldn't get by only hunting 10 days. |

We have archery season starting September 15 and after gun season we have 2 weeks of muzzleloader and then late bow season. We only gun hunt on our Michigan property and we only bow hunt on our Wisconsin property. This way we don't over hunt an area. |

Lunker, it's down right distressing. I have actually passed on the last two deer I've seen, because they were too small. I'm afraid the club that hunts about 3/4 mile from my place (or the poachers I have problems with every year) have gotten the big 12, the nice 10 and that tall, long browed 7, since I haven't seen or gotten a picture of any of them since Nov. 2nd at noon. One of the guys in the club told a cousin of mine that they've killed 8 nice 8 points, two 10s, and a couple of other "really big" bucks. Since I've got the only food plots in the area, and the rut was really going strong, I have all ideas that the pictures I have are all I'm going to get of all those great bucks from earlier in the season. |
