I know where you're coming from. I had just started walking with a walker last year this time. I prefer hunting with a cousin but days he can't go I can manage it alone. On those days I have three friends that live nearby (my home is 35miles away) I text them the night before with location and a time when its time for them to dial 911 and get themselves up the hill. You may or may not know I killed a buck with my compound bow on opening day. The bext day it was pouring rain so I was home. I was sitting in the garage smoking when it hit me. I started crying and saying The Lords Prayer.

So I understand what you went through and am extremely happy for you. GO GET EM KILLER!!!!! From here on out its gravy. You started with rotten taters and now not only have you got mashed taters you got the gravy too. OK gotta go you is makin me misty.

I now pronoucne you full fledged member of the " Gimps Are Us " club Hatfield and welcome back ! If I had rolled over and gave up everytime they told me I would be in a wheelchair I would have been sitting in one since Spet 1982. I kept telling them to just do their jobs and I would take it from there and the only time I have been in a wheelchair is when they rolled me to the front door so I could get inmy car and get the he11 home. I now have had 8 surgeries with 4 being back surgeries. I was the original $6.00 man after my left shoulder repair required a 4" piece of titanium medical grade wire and 2 titanium medical grade phillips head screws. But with my 4th bcak surgery in Aug 2010 I am now the $600.00 man as the titanium medical grade plates and 4 of the same material grade phillips head screws cost a bit more these days. Both ankles reconstructed, now both shoulder as they repaired my right one in Aug 2012. I have missed 4 hunting seasons during all this but will be leaving after Thanksgiving lunch headed to south Georgia and a 3 day hunt there and then back home to prepare for an weeks hunt after Santer Claws comes.

Never Quit !
All the way !!
No man shall be left behind !!!

This is how I have lived my life since the beginning of my military career and will never change this way of life. I have been asked what keeps me going with all that has happened and the severity of my wounds and injuries and the simple answer is this is the way our Great Lord God and his wonderful Son Jesus made me and quitting or giving up has never been a a part of my life since I was born. Don't ever let anyone to include the professionals tell you what you can't do and only focus on what you want and intend to do and you will do great my friend. I know of many who don't have anywhere near what I have had done that are either living their lives in a recliner or bed which will only hasten their own deaths. I do have to take meds on a daily basis but I look at it as the best alternative to having dirt thrown on me. I have also said that when it is my time to go I pray it is where those who choose to pay their respects have to do so on the weekend and not during the week where they would do it to simply get off work. It will surely tell your family who your real firends are/were as if they come to visit the funeral home on their weekend as well as attend the funeral services it only re-enforces that they are/were your real friends. My good friend and brother warrior Gutpile knows exacly what I am saying.
