{snip} and none of my guns like Federal, or Hornady loads.
I guess rifles are like shotguns and women, they all like something different.

My Savage LOVES the Fed. Premiums, hates Rems... eh - gotta feed 'em what they like.

I prefer to hit em in the chest just behund the knee. I like em to bleed out. Mainly because I eat the liver and with shots that kill on impact the liver is just so full of blood makes a mess in the kitchen.

This got me to thinkin' gut. Which is better to get the blood out.  My nephew is a Major in the Army in the ME. He's also the ranking battalion surgeon. I sent him a note asking which shot would be best for getting the blood outta the critter.

Now, he's a busy boy and it may take a while for me to get a reply but I'll post back with what he says.

No biggie, just curious.

Steve, I don't know why, but I was under the impression that you loaded your own ammo.

Hence this statement of mine... "I too load ammo for one cartridge, and it's a sub-moa shooter"

I'm not sure if I thought that I had remembered an earlier post, or if it was just you mentioning the MOA shooting

I don't think I ever said that LD. I have no sub MOA's presently. Not into that any more. If I can do 1 MOA, that's ok by me now. Not when I was a bit younger but....

If I said that, I had a flashback or something.  I seem to remember the post, but don't remember writing it.

If any of you guys have read my "off hand" post you know I have no business taking this shot. But it really has my curiosity up. Firearms opens in Indiana tomorrow. I will be in a tree with a scoped 44mag Marlin rifle. I am really going to have to use some restraint if a short shot presents itself. :-) But I think I'll keep the neck shot in my bag of tricks for next year when I am a better shot.

Thanks for the debate. It was very enlightening.
