it all depends on the pelt! are these winter killed pelt? how were they tanned flat tan or case tan? and it depends on where you live and what is in demand! there is an auction in vegas thats where most pelt that the people i know and i send them too! if these are tanned hides (case tanned) check with a few taxidermists in your area to see what they would give you for them! i am sure another member "gutpile" may have a better idea than i do as to what there worth!! if these are summer kills you wont get much tho! winter pelts are thicker and more desireable!!

best of luck to you!

Don't you mean case skinned? Then fleshed, stretched and dried. The fur market can be VERY volitile. Its dependent on a number of factors. Economic conditions being probably the biggest influence on prices. When the economy is in the toilet so are prices. Weather can also be a factor cold winters in Europe and especially Russia can drive prices up. But that's mostly a coon and fox market. China is the major player in the coyote market all those nice winter parkas with the coyote trimmed hoods in Wallyworld well, look at the label. Made in China. Another factor is hold over from the previous year. As of the latest I know NAFA is only holding small and low grade skins. So large high grade skins MAY do OK. But if we're hit with another recession all bets are off as I've seen coon selling at $30 drop to $3 in a month that was Black Monday back in the Reagan days. I won't even try and give you prices. I'd sell now though because the economic climate forcast don't look good.

If you have any that area good at this time it is best to sell and if you get cats here in New Mexico watch the market theysell for the most. We will start calling cats now that the temperature has gone down into the 30's and below they will sart to get prome pelts over the next 4 months if we have a winter. Good luck

papa Furs prime through photoperiodism long word just means length of day. And as we all know that is dependent on latitude. Coon here are all primed up down your way they may be just getting there. Temp isn't a factor.
