donccapps1, since assault weapons aren't used for hunting in this country, the answer is obviously, No one! Assault weapons have been regulated by the Feds since the 1930's, and the only assault weapons used in this country are by police and military, along with a few serious gun collectors and competition shooters. You see, an assault weapon usually has a selector switch on it that will allow for a single shot, a three shot burst, or a fully automatic firing option. That particular type of gun requires a special license and payment of a Federal tax, just to own one. AR style guns are not assault rifles, since AR is actually an acronym for Armalite Rifle which was the gun designed by Mr. Stoner when he developed the original military full automatic rifle, which subsequently became the M-16. AR-15 style guns are nothing more than semi-automatic rifles, just like your Remington 7400 or Browning BAR series. The fact that many of them have a forend pistol grip and an adjustable stock, along with a detachable magazine does not in any way make them an assault rifle. You my friend are a victim of the anti-gun crowd and have fallen into the category of uniformed and easily swayed. Get the facts instead of relying on the liberal hype! BTW, the same type of resistance was brought by those opposed to the bolt action rifle when it first became popular, since it was derived from a military style rifle.........and oh, I forgot, anyone can be killed by any type of gun, so even your great-great grandad's old single barrel squirrel gun would qualify as an "assault weapon" by the anti-s.

C'mon and get real! If you are a gun owner and a hunter, you should seriously be fighting for the protection of our Second Amendment and not aligning yourself with the antis. Join the NRA and get your head out of your azz and understand the facts!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS:  RClark, you also need to understand that unless you have that Federal license and pay that tax, you don't own an assault weapon........even for home defense!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NRA LM, NAHC LM, Buckmasters LM, Second Amendment Foundation, GOA, NAGR, Palmetto Gun Rights, DU, NWTF, QDMA, Everyday Hunter,OYOA, ASAdspalliance,D& DH, and PROUD SC redneck REBEL for life. If the South had won the war, Obama wouldn't be in the White House.

Gun owners. Have you tried to buy ammo lately? Seems like the well is going dry. But most important I would have you think about when they come for your guns. One man in a house fighting the people after your guns is a dead man and would only scare the rest of the sheep. Since nam it is proven that one person is NOT a threat. BUT many are. Hide your weapons for later use WHEN you organize a group to resist. AMBUSHES are more effective than being a sitting duck. Our forces would destroy a frontal attack. 5 or ten under the cover of night makes a fine fighting team for hit and run. Please use a lil sence about the one against many bit.Get to your friends now and form a team that can defend each other, or hide each other. JUST my thought, one man alive inflicting damage is better that a dead man making a statement.
