Way to go TN! The rest of CFKA may be going to hell in a handbasket but TN is soldily Conservative now. We do have a bunch of RINOs and East-TN Republicans to water us down but the big "R" is the big winner here. Now is the time we start hounding our officials routinely demanding fiscal Conservative values and increase our gun rights and hunting rights, etc. I'll be writing something up to send to Haslam, Ramsey and my State Rep and State Sen. and sending these out this week. |

First on your agenda should be to tell Haslam "NO WAY" on setting up State Obamacare centers in TN !! |

Got bummed out after all the returns came in. I got up the next morning and gave my elephant a big ol hug to console him. Guess all the liberals had to go and kiss their a$$ to celebrate the outcome. Hahahahaha |

I told my Rep., Joe Carr that I agree with him and what appears to be most State GOP legislators that the State-Exchange is a bad idea. While Haslam I think just wants State-control which I think we all do in theory, it is actually admitting that Obamacare is legal and binding and thus limits our future possible attempts to oust it. We are stuck with it for now, perhaps forever as America has died and CFKA has firmly rooted in her corpse, but we don't need to embrace it. |

Haslam wants to do it from what I am hearing here. He likes the notion of controlling it (power) but also of the State taking some control. But, the GOP is trying to persuade him it is a bad idea. Basically, if he does it he loses the ability to sue over it or fight it and lends credibility to it which it ought not have. IGNORE it! If Obama wants to force it on us he can figure out how to run it while we simply ignore him and it and go abt our merry way. |

My Legislator, Joe Carr is proposing a bill to lift the State's ban on guns in schools so teachers can carry. Haslam listened to the People and decided not to support the State Exchange. |

Hooray for Carr and hooray for business oriented Gov! My personal belief is teachers WHO WISH TO CARRY IN SCHOOL should have an extra test---physcology....then be issued a special license if they pass the psy test to carry in school. |

Hey Tom, who gives the test? Most psychiatric doctors go to another one themselves or need to. I do not trust them one bit, but I do support teachers having the means to carry in school.
By the way, having a republican leadership that ignores the will of the people does not help protect our rights one bit, Got to get rid of a few more of them to make a difference. |

You either understand that you ARE BORN with the right to protect yourself (keep and bare arms) by virture of being born and endowed with this right by your creator (for nonbelievers by virtue of your humanity) or you DO NOT. This is a BASIC premise of the concept of liberty and freedom. This right, freedom, and liberty predates the United States Constitution and is PLAINLY codified in the Declaration of Independence. The 2nd Amendment DOES NOTHING to grant you the "right to keep and bare arms". That "right" pre-existed and CANNOT be lawfully or morally taken from you unless you allow it. The 2nd Amendment does nothing more than plainly state what government SHALL NOT DO. ALL citizens have (and the "law" should allow) the right to carry a firearm ANYWHERE in public. This of course comes with a great responsibility to respect the rights and safety of others. Those who CANNOT or REFUSE to do so should not be consuming valuable oxygen and other life sustain resources. Not trying to be a nit picker here.........just trying to keep the essence of the discussion factually on track. With respect to placing police in our schools........this is an unbelievably BAD idea. For the same reasons parents and most civilized & eduated people do NOT want rapists, child molesters, murders, wife beaters, drug dealers, drug abusers, sex offenders, and voilent & the mentally ill in our schools..........they DO NOT want police in our schools. Properly vetted, armed, and trained school staff who request it are a MUCH better option that costs FAR less. I saw in the news last night where the costs is $90,000 per SRO to place them in schools Sumner county according to the Sumner county sheriff. This is not only law enforcement "letting no crisis go to waste", it is an outrage in a poor attempt to justify their existence. For approx. 25% of that cost, a teacher or school staff member could be provided with the best hand gun and or semi-auto rifle, training & periodic refresher training, and a life time supply of ammunition for training and protective use. |

I too do not like the idea of armed "professionals" being placed at schools or for that matter malls, stores, etc or metal detectors everytime you turn around. POLICE STATES are what I see in traveling.....don't like it! LaPieere fugged up! Wrong solution! He basically advocated a Police State! He needs to get out more often! |

I am a Benefactor Life Member of the NRA but for a long time, the NRA does NOT speak for me or the values I hold dear. The NRA has become part of the problem. The NRA leadership has become far to eager to compromise. There is NO compromise when it comes to natural born rights. |
