My son and myself went to a gunshow here yesterday and I made a deal and got a NIB Springfield Armory model XDS in .45acp and I will give my thoughts and results of the first time I get back from the range. With the item to trade and $288.00 dollars I walked out the door with it. With the trade item and the cash my total cost was $480.00 which is a great deal anyday. This handgun comes with 2 mags, 2 mag belt holder, Kydex holster, cable trigger lock, as well as the usual manuals and such. These handguns are a great buy and have had nothing but great reviews from the major gun mags and writers. This is now my everyday carry replacing my Para Ordnance Wart Hog. We shall see ! |

Been looking at the same thing (In .45 ACP) myself for quite some time now. Just having a hard time swallowing the 650 price tag. BD, you did make a great deal with yours. |

The highest I seen them at the show was $599.99 and after walking a little further in they were selling for $549.99 and remember that the veondors setup at the booth nearest the entrance are always higher priced than the ones further in and toward the back are. This has been something I have noticed for years and it is to get the ones who come in and see what they are looking for immediately and they then usually make the purchase and then go on in and see the same thing cheaper. |

BD, I noticed the same thing about the vendor setup too, and being that there is a local gunshow here this weekend, I'm gonna scout the entire place tomorrow when I go before I lay out any cash. |

I got my new XD .45, a couple of years ago with an even trade of a new Stoeger .410 double that I won at an NWTF banquet. I have the lasermax site on mine, and wherever the red dot hits, so does the 265 grain solid!!!!!!!!
A few years prior, I purchased a S&W Sigma 40 at the same gun show in the same location for $289.00 tax, included. I always attend the Land of the Sky gun show when it is in Ladsen, SC, just outside of Charleston, and the Easton gun show when it's in Savannah, and have found that Land of the Sky always has vendors who are more willing to cut prices and make trades than Easton's.

This was an RK Gunshows sponsored event and is the first one I have ever attended as my usual trip is for the show sponsored by Eastman's as they have their's in the bigger Civic Center in Marietta, Georgia and the RK Show was in a couple of smaller buildings on the country Fairgrounds. Anytime I mention buying something just know that I am only able to do so after saving for anywhere from 6 months to a year. Being and living on a fixed income anything I buy for myself which is not very often has been saved by $5.00, $10.00 and if I really hit the jackpot a $20.00 bill but irregardlessof the amount everything I buy or do that cost money is only able to happen from my saving these small amounts when possible. |

We're in the same boat. I often have to save for several years, just a dollar here, and maybe $5 there. Also, I do save all of my coins, and when I get my coin counting jar full, I cash that in and that goes into the purchase account. Not at all like it was when I was working, and could buy whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted to buy it!!
