Joe from what I have heard from friends IRL that are members here under Benefits you can scroll down to outfitter ratings and outfitter discounts to get some of the best around. They are listed and scored very well there.

Unfortunately though none of my friends have personally heard of Blackwater in SC since most concentrate on the western hunts so I cannot get 1st hand viewpoints for you.

Joe, I never hunted there, but I used to know some of their guides, and Mike Stroff of the Savage Outdoors television program, along with Hal Shaffer of several other hunting programs both were employed there back in the 80's.
Try looking them up under Black Creek Plantation.

The only black creek plantation that comes up on the internet is in Geprgia.

Blackwater Hunting lodge is located in Ulmer South Carolina, if this helps.

OK, that's a fairly new operation then. The original Blackcreek Plantation is located in Manning, SC, and that's the one I was describing. I live about 20 minutes from Ulmer, and haven't heard of this operation. I'd stick with the ones I told you about in the other thread. Either Cypress Creek, Bostick, Buck Run or Broxton Bridge, and like I stated, Cypress Creek is owned and operated by Danny Harrell, a LM of the NAHC, and I believe he offers discounts to NAHC members. Bostick is the oldest in the state, and has recently started renovating their guest lodge, so when kkimball was here in the spring, he and his wife and sons stayed in Joe Bostick's personal home. Joe is usually in Africa, or somewhere out West, if he isn't fishing in some exotic location; but his guides and services are top notch..Buck Run is a much newer operation, but the manager/owner is one hell of a nice guy (I just met him once, and for the life of me I can't remember his name. Broxton Bridges also offers a campsite, horseback riding, and is located on the site of a famous War of Northern Aggression battle field and surrounding area.

When I was still working and managing the Advance Auto Parts store in Hampton, all of these places were customers and I got to know many of their guides and staff members. All of them are top notch people.

If Blackwater Hunting lodge is in Ulmer, then I believe it may have previously been operated under a different name, and if it is the one I'm thinking of, I can't recommend it without knowing who is actually operating it now.

Hey, can you do some asking around for me?

Hey Rh

Black water is located at 7585 Highway 300.

He says that he has been in operation since 96.

I've met Terry, and he seems to be a good guy. I don't think his operation has always been called Black Water, though. Hell, maybe it's just a side effect of my strokes and I can't remember the name of the place he used to operate; but he always advertised in the NAHC magazine and the NRA mag, along with Bostick and some of the others I mentioned.

Ulmer is just a wide spot in the road, between Allendale, Denmark, and Bamburg, like I said, it's about 20-30 minutes from my house, and I used to go through it twice a day when I managed the Discount Auto Parts/Advance Auto Parts store in Denmark.
