Reading the DNR about Maryland, they say rifles are allowed. But looking at the guide services, they all list shotgun season.Nothing about rifle season. What is this about?

If rifles are allowed, can you recommend any guide services, that you have used?

The shotgun and rifle seasons are one and the same. Rifles are permitted in certain areas of the state; otherwise, you must use a shotgun if you are using a modern firearm. The guides probably only work where you must use a shotgun.

The modern firearm season is November 24 - December 8 and January 4 and 5. But there are certain restrictions about areas of the state and taking a buck vs. a doe. Go to the MD DNR website for the Hunting and Trapping regs. Don't know anything about guides for deer . . . never used one. PTL!
