My buddy got a draw lottery number for the McNary Waterfowel Preserve in the Tri-cities. We had three newbies out there that have never been duck hunting. It was a learning experience to say the least. We had a great time and even got a duck down. My buddy flushed a rooster pheasant and we put him down as well. Pretty good for not having a dog. 

Widgeon? Looks like a pretty bird either way, and that rooster is gorgeous

My buddy got this MASHER over the weekend. Last day of the rifle season I believe.

Went out for another duck hunt on the Chehalis river. My friend got a wood duck hen, a pheasant hen and i got a green wing teal. Even had time that weekend for some chum fishing. Has any one else been out this year? Got late archery hunt coming up. Cant wait.

I take it you got the Hen on a release site? The hunting was pretty good on or about the Chehalis this season. The landowners have been a bit more apt to let hunters on their property than in the past.

Yeah we were next to a release site hunting on the river and spotter her. The guide had a tag for that day luckily. I hunted up near anacortes for ducks on one of the last weekends of the season and we saw a ton of ducks nothing close enough to shoot though. I went to a corn field owned by the state on the last evening i could hunt for the season and had some luck. Two Hen Mallards and a Drake. Right after shooting light there must have been 2,000 birds coming into the corn to feed. I have some crazy videos from that flight.
