I hope you don't think this is a dumb question. Hunter A is loaded for turkey. Hunter B is loaded for squirrel. They are sitting next to each other. B shoots a squirrel. I know the noise from the shot will scare away any turkey close by, but will that noise scare away something further away but still within ear shot? Would it be advisable to move or stay put after the shot? |

If you're hunting turkeys drop your buddy a mile or so away. When I'm bowhunting I've had large flocks of turkeys walk right by me never making a sound. |

Yep. I agree with Gut. Stay as far away from hunter b while your turkey hunting! |

I'm sorry, but B has got to go before you even get there. Let him learn to work the call and make it a team sport, but for gobbler sakes hunt one species. It isn't like deer hunting where you are primarily concerned with scent. In my expereince turkey are more skiddish and will simply bed down and stop moving. Then you done. For me the hardest part of turkey is finding them and bringing them into your area. I have waited for hours and finally had them come in. The idea of getting close and then starting over so my buddy can take a squirrel is a toughy. Besides, here, turkey hunting is 2 weeks. Squirrel hunting last months. Sorry if I rant. I have just had so many turkey blown out after a good setup that I am a bit punch about it. :-) |
