I just shot my first deer of the year, a doe. I shot my first deer running with the muzzleloader and man it knocked him flat. I was using my TC Omega with 100gr of 777 and a 240gr bullet. I have another tag and am planning on getting back out there.

Congratulations on the deer. How far away were you from the animal? And did you get a pass through with that bullet? Was this the .44 or .45 caliber bullet? I am guessing it was an XTP or perhaps something different.

The deer was 40 yards running and I was using a 240gr .45 XTP bullet. The bullet exited the oppposite side. Cayugad made a very good guess on what bullet I was using. I wouldn't think Cayugad would miss on what bullet I was using he being an excellent blackpowder expert. I read all of Cayugad's posts because they are always very informative!
