Holy #@%$?&$ that's a beauty of a buck. Nice job on puttin' him down with a bow. That should make a great mount and some tasty dinners. Now your only problem is getting a bigger one next year. LOL I would love to hear about the hunt, the shot and how he went down.

WOW, what a way to start! Congratulations! Of course you realize you've gotta give up the details once your heart starts beating normally again, right? ;-)

Lol. Its not the most exciting story. I spotted him bedded down under a ledge and got around behind him. I had to walk about 3/4 mile with no cover to get up on him but the wind was in my favor so i got lucky. Then I came up right over him, he had no idea I was there. He was bedded directly under me about 5 feet. The way he was laying i didn't take a shot because i wasn't exactly sure where to aim, I was right on top of him and to go for a spine shot i would have had to lean out over the ledge and i was sure he would see me. So i backed off and came down a "finger" of the same drainage but i still didn't feel good about the shot. All i could have aimed at was neck.. So I clicked at him and he jumped up. He wasn't sure what he had heard so he didn't bolt but to get away he had to pass thru a saddle so i sat and waited . When he passed thru I shot him at 45 yards. Perfect shot, he ran about 50' and piled up. I won't get him mounted, they come a lot bigger around here. :-) the one i got last year (in my profile pic) outscores him by quite a bit. I was happy with him for my first bow kill tho. Muleys are a tough bow hunt :-)

Great job and even though you consider him on the low end, that is a trophy. Excellent job on the stalk, would love to shoot one of those " little ones" lol

Wish I could get a little one like that, as you call it. IMO very Good buck, congrats.

Thanks! I am afraid i must have come across wrong, I don't think he is little, I just wouldn't mount him. Take a look at the mule deer on my profile page, I hunt in an area that grows some hogs! @ckell yep. I shoot the Bear Homewrecker. I absolutely love it!

OK, you tell a "not... exciting story" any time you like. That was an awesome day hunting. Well played and good shot.

I have no 50 yard pin.
