I have heard there are some wild hogs in Arizona. I know that there are some on Bill Williams Game Preserve. Not sure if there is any that can be hunted here yet. Has anyone hunted hogs hear in the past? Fish and Game will not even talk about hogs. I also heard that a farmer turned a bunch of Hogs lose up around Dugas Rd., several years ago. But I am not sure where that farm is located on that road. I have never hunted Hogs but would like to some day. |

I checked a few months ago on the Havasu National Wildlife refuge site and they acknowledge the presence of hogs but seem to say no there is no hunting for them although there is hunting for some other things, mostly upland birds and waterfowl. Check out their site. |

Hogs in Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, and many other western states used to be a free benefit when hunting with an outfitter but since they have found out that many will pay they are now charging for hogs. It's the same with javelinas or peckerys as they are not true hogs but do the same damage as hogs when they are in big enough groups. I would checkout all the WMA's nearest to you and go from there. |
