Yeah, I know it's early but I am too pumped up about bow season!!  Got some new land to hunt and Thursday can't get here fast enough!  I'd be out already if it wasn't for work.  Anyway, we all love hearing about everyone's successes out in the field.  Let's start it off right!!

I hope the absence of posts here aren't a hint as to how everyone's season is going. Mine got to a really slow start but got better pretty quick this week. Stuck a nice doe this a.m. and got a good eating yearling yesterday a.m. Now, just looking for some antlers this weekend!

I'll let you know tomorrow. Was out west after elk, came home empty, so no bow hunts this year. 3 gun tags to fill, though.

Been hard to even find a deer in the public access sites where I've been going, tomorrow gonna try a new spot, read an article in the "American Hunting" Magazine that Biologist are scared the deer heards are dropping numbers too quickly since 2008, their studies show a dramatic drop in deer population.....

Friday morning in Pike county I shot a button buck "thought it was a doe"....  Sunday morning I got a 12 point buck in Scott county. These where the first two deer I have killed with my son hunting with me he is 7 and will be hunting next year if he can pass hunters safety test.

Good ole Pike County, wish it wasn't so far....lol...been seeing some deer this past week, too dang windy today 30 to 40 mph gusts, didn't see anything today....also read another article in a hunting magazine that stated since 2010 hunters 16 and younger has increased 25% when compared to 2008, I believe the youth is our Future, but with the dwindling deer heards and "trophies" I can see new laws going into effect soon....just my 2 cents....

Ended my season with to smallish 8pts. I did get to be with my son though when he got his first buck. It was also an 8pt.
