I will be going to boone nc next month and i want to go bear hunting for the best time any tips information i may need to know.

Are you going with an outfitter or doing it yourself? Are you allowed to bait or use dogs? If your allowed to bait the bear here really liked granola, pancake syrup, donuts chocolate syrup. Another thing we did was after he baited and tossed the logs on top the food to keep out other critters we tossed flour or powdered sugar all around the sight. If your bear comes in just before dark it helps light up the area so you can get a good shot on the bear especially if you got a full moon. Set up your stand no further than like 30 yards away, their so quiet and usually come in just minutes before shooting time is expired. good luck.
