I know that brass costs have gone crazy. The problem with someone elses once, they say. fired brass is in the resizing for your gun sometimes it is a real pain in the well you know.
What have you tried? What would be your preferred bullet choice? Maybe some of us could offer up what has worked for us.

i have tried the sierra 180 gamekings with 7828 @89-94 grains, same with barnes 165 180 and 200 grain triple shocks also tried both with magnum powder though i don't have my notes here so i don't recall the charge weights, also have varied seating depth from 3.5 to 3.6 seems the best group i came up with was the 165 triple shocks with 90 grains of imr 7828 at about 1.5 inches but velocity is pretty consitant with it

My best load with Ramshot Magnum is with Nosler 200 gr. partitions. Rem Brass Fed 215 primers 95 gr. of Magnum. This is 3100 fps and shoots 1/2 to 3/4" groups if I do my part.

With 180 gr. Nosler Partitions I use 97 gr of Retumbo and with 180 TSX I have had good results with 90 gr of Reloader 25 and the 97 Retumbo load.

I have not loaded many 165's so have no real hard info.

Hope this helps.

I got a bunch, 200 rounds, of Federal ammo on sale a number of years ago. All my listed loads were worked up in Rem brass. I have worked a bunch with R-25 and it did well but pressure spiked quickly with it so be careful. R-22 should work with 165's but might be to fast for good results with 180's on up. But you never know your rifle might like it. I will find my R-25 data and post some for you.

PS alliant has R-33 out and that should be a good one for the RUM

I have worked up to 92 gr. R-25 with 180 bullets. This was a about 3150 fps. and grouped around 1 to 1.5 inches. I was not happy with pressure or accuracy. It seemed a little spikey when I got up to 3100 fps or more.
