We put the trail cameras out last Monday.  Now the wait is on.  Will not be checking them until Oct. 5 or so.  It is 250 miles one way so kinda expensive and time consuming.  Getting kinda excited about deer season.  Will post some pictures when I get them.

If you have some pictures feel free to share so we all can get a little more impatient.

My tcam results have been very disappointing this year, and have been on the decline since I started using them in 09.

One of the reasons is that since 2010 I've been working at the bog, and haven't been able to keep up with my food plots. When the sun is shining I'm working. The only time I get a chance to mow them is when it's raining.

The wolves also seem to be impacting the area. My part time neighbor runs 9 cams, and his #'s are down too. And this year we only get one tag in my area, last year we could by up to 4 bonus tags.

Activity is a little quiet this week.  Only one picture.  This buck is the last one seen on the cam from two weeks ago.

I posted a couple of pics on another post of deer with hair loss. It took me forever to get them gropped to right size and sometimes would post and some others wouldn't.

They are always trying to improve this web sight, so why don't they do something to make it easier to post pics??? I don't have to crop to post to facebook or to email . I wouldn't think it would be that hard for them to fix.

BPearce,

I used to do the crop thing until I saw that I could compress pictures with MS Office Picture Manger.  The probable reason for the website limiting picture file size is storage cost.  Another is the time it takes to download the pictures.

Before they fixed the avatar issue.  Some avatars were occupuying 3/4 of the screen.  The same can happen with high res pictures.  You have to scroll left and right but never see the whole thing at once.

Lunkerdog

If I get my wolf tag I will come up and shoot one of your wolves.

Just to help the deer in your area.

TGJ, come on up, I'll put you in a good spot

BP, you don't have to crop the pics if you know how to trick the site

Mark, your pics go from 8/30 to 9/20-22. Are there any pics in between?

The reason I ask is because most of the literature I've read has said that the majority of the bucks in our region shed their velvet right around, or shortly after the 1st of September. You seem to have missed that gap.

TGJ,

Here is a close up of the weird one.  It reminds me of a prong horn.  I am primarily a meat hunter.  I would put this one at 1 1/2 years old.  Which means he will be good eating.  I would like to shoot the big one  but this guy is just so unusual that I would not mind taking him and mounting that one of a kind rack.

-LD,

The wolves that I heard two of those weekends pretty much shut down deer visiting the salt lick.  I did see a buck tonight but I am not sure which one it was.  I'll check the cam Sunday.

I am in the camper near Ely/Isabella getting snowed on. We are up to check the deer cams. I hope to post a few pictures in a few days.
Life is good.

The past two weeks have been quiet for bucks.  The one I saw on 9/25 did not pause for a picture.  I got pictures of a spike buck and "pronghorn".  Thursday morning a doe and two fawns (one of which is a button buck) fed and licked the salt block for over 2 hours before leaving at four AM.

Are trying to use the sites attachment tools to post them? As mentioned above, they have to be sized properly to do so.
