I do not know how many of you are aware but the Idaho Department of Fish and Game has had a moratorium on new waterfowl and turkey outfitters in Idaho for decades.  This has resulted in an essential ban on waterfowl and turkey outfitting in the state. The Idaho Board of Outfitters and Guides are expected to put forth legislation or propose rule changes to overturn the moratorium.

This will likely add to the pressure on our already limited waterways, particularly the snake river, and other public lands.  It will also probably have a detrimental impact on the access yes program, resulting in landowners withdrawing their lands from the program for lease payments from outfitters.  That is what has happened in other states.

Idaho's waterfowl hunting is almost unique in that it is a do it yourself state.  Take a friend along, introduce someone to the sport, but you can't demand money to do it.  It makes for a good waterfowling community as well as wise use and preservation of the limited wetlands we have in the state.

If you are interested in preserving waterfowl hunting for the every Idahoan, please join me in signing this petition to oppose expanding waterfowl outfitting in the State of Idaho.

Thank you.

Thanks.  This is the second go around (or third depending on if you are thinking in decades).  I am pretty sure that compared to the number of big game hunters us waterfowlers are smaller in number, but that is why we are trying to reach out.  Thanks for the support.
