Some of the best scopes ever made and many were used by our military during the Vietnam Republic of war for sniping duty. I have not personally used the varmit model but if it is anywhere as good as the others it is well worth the money spent.

The camputer models ( I have a 6-24 model) are a bit challenging to figure out, particularly if you are using it for rangefinding. But the fine reticle is a positive feature for varmints. It is a bit of a problem for big game in poor light conditions.

Here is the scope that helped Carlos Hathcock become the sniper he was http://hi-luxoptics.com/malcolm-8x-usmc-sniper/ and it is reasonably priced by today's standard's.

Fellers I cannot stress enough at just how good these scopes are and they are priced so that those like us can afford to buy one. The ART-1000 and the ART-1200 are what would be a great scope for all types of hunting and if you sit down and read the instructions and pay attention to the different parts and what they do they are not that hard to comprehend and use. My next scope purchase will be the ART-1200 and later down the line I will be buying one of the LER models for an original Mauser I have that does not require any permenant changes to the rifle in order to mount the scope. The reproduction vinatge models for both the single shot big calibers and the ones for the lever guns are great examples of having the look with modern parts that make them even better than the originals. I really do like and recommend this brand of optics.
