I currently live in the Hershey Pa area and just lost my job due to company downsizing. I lost my son and fiance 6mo ago in a car accident and just looking to relocate to the Wyoming area. It's tough to be around here due to memories. Does anyone know of a good area to seach for work as a maintenance mechanic that has good hunting for waterfowl, turkeys, big game and upland birds on public or even private that allows access. I currently drive 3hrs 1 way on a weekend to hunt public land so small amounts of traveling wouldn't be a problem. I just don't have good hunting around me and what is around has low population and quality of game, it's PA. Any resources for rentals and local contacts on how to get things going would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

cwe; Sorry to hear about you family. Down in the SW corner is a town called Rock Springs. Oil and Methane have created huge fields of wells. If there are rigs and trucks, there needs to be mechanics. Aplications and pee tests are first thing. I believe Elkoholic live in the SW corner but not sure exactly where. Look up Joanah Fields in WY on the computer. Not sure what after that. Good luck.

Thanks prairedogger. I've been doing research online and most outfits have wanted past experience in that environment but I'll keep looking. My experience has been in the manufacturing industry repairing machines. I have found very few industries in Wyoming that deal with manufacturing but I'll keep looking and appreciate any feedback from anyoe on openings and locations. Thanks again.

https://www.wyomingatwork.com/

Try this website, it's probably the best way to go as it is run by the state and some companies use it as their primary way of finding pre-screened job applicants.

Thanks for the input huntrdave and dgearhart. I'll check things out on that site and keep my eyes open for positions. Then will need to start finding places to hunt. They go hand and hand, gotta be able to hunt wherever I move.

Might look at North Dakota and South Dakota as both states are looking for all kinds of workers and NoDak has an oil boom going also.
