Here is a quote from KMVT on the East side of UNIT 54.

Eastern Magic Valley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) More resources are coming to battle three lightning-caused fires that began on Sunday. These fires include the 13,000 acre Cave Canyon Fire, the 1,100 acre Deer Hollow Fire and the 211 acre Eightmile Fire.

Sawtooth National Forest officials have brought in the Great Basin Incident Management Team 1 to manage the Minidoka Complex.

Resources are limited due to mulitple fires burning throughtout the Gem State as well as Nevada and Montana.

The Cave Canyon Fire forced the evacuation of four homes on the Mullen Ranch in Big Hollow on Tuesday.

The Deer Hollow Fire started in the grass, sage and juniper. It's now burning through the tops of trees in beetle-killed timber.

Smokejumpers have now been assigned to the Eightmile Fire and have made good progress. This fire is burning between West Dry Canyon and Eightmile Canyon.

Great Basin Team 1 will take command of these fires starting at six a.m. Wednesday morning.

The team will work closely with the Minidoka Ranger District and the Twin Falls District BLM.

CAVE CANYON FIRE CLOSURES: Starts at the Forest-Boundary along FS Road 500, then west for about 12 miles to the junction with FS Road 526 for 1/5 mile, then north on FS Road 527 for approximately 15 miles to the northern forest boundary.

DEER HOLLOW FIRE AND EIGHTMILE FIRE CLOSURES: All roads and trails within thIs area. The closure begins at the forest boundary along FS Road 010 (Monument Canyon Road) then southeast for approximately three miles past the end of FS Road 010 to the east/west divide of the Black Pine Mountains. The closure continues to the south approximately eight miles along the Black Pine Mountains ridgeline, then along the divide to Black Pine Canyon through Black Pine Springs, south along FS Road 083 for about three miles to the junction with FS Road 586 (Black Pine Canyon Road) and south along that road for about five miles to the Forest Boundary

the trinity ridge fire has sure blown up. where I killed my last two bucks is all burned up oh well should be great hunting again in 5-10 years

wellTHEY ARE LETTING FEATHERVILE RESIDENTS RETURN TO THIER HOMES  after being evaced for two weeks. the fire is expected to burn for another month(or till snow falls) AT LEAST THEY SAVED THE TOWN.most of my favorite local hunting spots are burned up but I guess if I do get a deer and elk this year I'll have some natural jerky

So far Atlanta is still here.Hoping it stays to the west{the fire}.The main river road is still closed and there only lletting residents and owners in here by way of Edna creek.Its a long way's to get grub.Good luck to all come hunting.
