I am not personally a Veteran---The Draft closed the day of my Birthday, So i figured this was a sign from God !!  I will say the vast majortiy of my friends are Vietnam vets and i consider myself lucky to be included in their lives,  My Question, Every one of my veteran friends is thouroughly  disgusted with Pres Obama !!!   Go Figure !!    Why do we not hear a Strong veteran Community Voice against Obama ???????????    We sure could use the help !   Now Obama is trying to stop the early sending of ballots to active military so they can not vote against him in time !!!!!    Where is the major uprising ???   I will stand with my Patriots !!!!

Good question hatfield. Its also hard to answer. All the vets i know are very proud that they served their country. But as you have noticed even in this forum there is not much correspondece I cant speak for everyone of course...but i think all of us vets are just tired.we have put up with the govt.  for so long...good or bad....that you kinda get numb to certain thingsIts weird but i bet you in a crowd od 1000 avet can pick out other vets...we kinda congragate like thatuntil you really pi$$ us off.than we fight back...me i mind my buisness..until you mess with what is mine...I have a buddy that suffers from PTSD he did 3 tours in iraqi  freedom...he did his job like the rest of us...but his(old man)"colonel" sent him to check on a position that was suppose to be friendlies   not once but twice   it was an enemy platoon...in a hummer no lessNever the less he came through  and the officer was fired...He comes back to the states and hes waiting on a deployment toguam...the cops in califonia...goes to his house and catches him with an ar-15 (which is illegal)and the marines kick him out early(which just goes to show you how much the govt. really cares about their soldiers)Then he comes home and cant  find a job...and he needs the meds..for ptsd...but here again the va.   wants to prolong the situation like hes a guinea pig     This just 1 example of being to tired to even care....but god help you if break in his house   lolWE will stand when they try to take our weapons that we have went to other nations and fought for our rights .its just motavating us is aall so many presidents have praised us   and then threw us to the wolves for their own political.views...so its a catch 22... damned if you do    damned if you dont...BUT i agree..its time to make the stand and get rid of politcal jerkoffs...and put in somebody who cares for all of our rights and to the vets that uphold these rights for the idiots that dont care and wanna get through life the easiest way possible(MILITARY INTELLIGENCE  )(WHAT EVER THE HELL THAT MEANS)dictates as soldiers we do as we are told...I for one say piss on that and lets put some order back to govt...this only my view...but im sure a few would agree with me..please add comments..i know im making someone mad lol

Most nam vets are loners and just want to be left alone.

I've been on half a dozen "boards" of one "boards" of one kind or another. I was even a "moderator" for a while on a Veterans board. You talk about tryin' to keep the cats and dogs separated and playing nice together with each other....I got out of that after a while, but had a little fun as well.

OB must go for ALL of our sakes. The ones who like him need to hear the "POP". By that I mean the sound of their heads being pulled out of their backsides.

I'm a Vietnam Vet I don't think we're loners. But there are times and things we don't discuss with civilians. Its not that we're loners when we get together we talk about our experiences the good times the bad times and the bullsheit. There are just things that you can never understand not having been there. You must understand that unlike our fathers of WW2, Korea or the current wars when we came home people cursed us, called us baby killers, and spat on us. That deeply hurt us so yeah we do have some trust issues with non vets.

In my experience a 19 year old kid got on an airplane one day then one day a 20 year old combat vet got on an airplane. And somewhere somehow something was lost between those two days.
