Storms rolled south through Mid-TN anyway last night.  What a wild ride!  When I went to bed at 11:30 last night i was watching a tremendous lightning show north over Nashville.  At 12:20 I was jolted awake by a roar of wind on the log wall by my headboard causing the logs to moan and the hiss of the rain blowing sideways against the logs told me it was really bad.  My boy right over our room hit his floor running toward his sis's room where he spent the rest of the night in her bed.  My basset hound on the porch was barking and whining wanting to come in.  Stupid dog won't go into hi house these days for some reason so he was on the steps soaking wet.  I had leaks all around the cracks on the logs and windows so I spent an hr putting down towels and watching the weather report but they only said severe storms were in the area, no twisters thank God.  At about 2am i went out to force the dog under the porch but he bailed right back out wanting to come in but there was no way I was letting that muddy wet excited mongel inside!  While out, I heard wood snapping in the front yard, so I got a powerful flashlight to cut through the sideways rain and saw I'd lost a nice hickory tree - snapped off at the roots.  So, after all that comotion it finally died down enough to sleep by 4am and the dern alarm went off an hour later.  Man! am I tired!

Fine here Shi....glad the bad stuff missed you.....haha....only problems I have this year so far are a dead Rhodadendrun (18 years old), dead Dogwood (native left in my back natural area), , dead Oak tree and a maple....guess drought is "better" than ragin storms.????

How's the lake level? I'd have thought the ground would soak up enough to keep your trees and yard alive. My grass is growing like crazy these days.
